Last Tuesday morning, (while we were still in Livingston) we headed out with pastor Marcos to go visit a few houses of church members. We ended up spending at least 2 and a half hours out in the sticks in the blazing hot sun. We prayed for a number of families, church members and non church members. We really saw in Marcos a caring heart for his people. It was encouraging.

heading out in the morning

walking across man-made log bridges

we prayed for this guy because he had just had some stomach surgery of some sort. It was funny/gross, cuz a family member showed us a jar with whatever it was they took out of him, in it. Kinda strange. 🙂

This is Victor and his kids. We prayed for Victor that he would not fall away from the Lord again. So, say a prayer for Victor too.

I don’t remember exactly how we prayed for this couple, but I think it was that they would start coming back to church again.

I find it interesting that people live in shacks made from sticks and dirt floors and thatched roofs…but they have cell phones.

We were treated to a great meal after the long morning. We were blessed so much during our time in Livingston with hospitality from the pastor and his family, even when they had just met us. We received free meals all the time…we were blessed.
Just an update on things…we are back in Antigua now. And it’s freakin cold dude!!! I was actually shaking today cuz it was so cold. (I may be a little feverish, but still) But yeah, we’re back in Antigua and are basically praying and seeking to see what we are supposed to do now for the next 20 days or so. So be praying for that if you don’t mind.
I talked to pastor Salvador from Livingston today (via Mildred) about Justine, and they have indeed been going back to see her…and it kinda sounds like the two churches may be taking her under their wing a little bit. But she apparently does not want to go to the hospital for some reason. I’m not real clear on that though, but it sounds like she may not even want the medical help. I don’t know. But we found out last night too, that there are about 20 missionary doctors from the states that are basing someplace in between Puerto Barrios and Livingston. SO HOW PRIME OF AN OPPORTUNITY IS THAT!!! Dona Gladys (our original contact over there) is now aware of Justine, and in contact with the doctors. And we told Salvador this morning about the doctors and have him in contact with Dona Gladys I think. The doctors are only around till Wednesday I understand, so PLEASE PRAY that she will want serious medical help (which likely means amputation) and that somehow those doctors will see her and that their hearts will be broken for her!
I was going back and forth last night about whether I should’ve stayed in Puerto Barrios/Livingston area to make sure those doctors see her while they are there. I woke up this morning feeling at peace with coming back here, so here I am, but part of my heart is still back there with her. Clinton & I are hoping to get back to see her before we leave the country though. THANKS FOR YOUR PRAYERS ON THIS!
I blogged last week sometime about how I was having a lot of “feelings” about me being here on this trip, and thinking a lot about Japan & Sweden and how I’m still not “feeling” real excited about what I’m out here doing…I just wanted to share that I really did feel some great effects of prayer for what I was goin through there. I had a real and much needed sense of peace that night and the next day. And I’m continuing to learn from all that and grow. So, thank you again!
