On our days off, Annie, Candice, Eric, Ginger and I headed up to the mountains near Canta and Obrajillo to hike and go camping. It was great! Great to get away, great to get away from the city and into some beautiful country and boy was it good exercise! Holy cow! My quads and calfs are still sore.

The five of us (and Fido in the foreground) at a cross on the way up.

Yeah, so these two dogs, who we ended up naming Fido and Pepper, followed us all the way up the mountain. They stayed with through the night and came back down with us in the morning.

Candice and I think Eric on the way up. We started in a town called Obrajillo at 8,800 ft. Annie had her GPS with her, so she used it to know how high we were. We camped at about 12,000 ft. And in the morning before we headed down, we all went out exploring on our own. And at one point I heard annie say we were at 13,000 ft, and I was probably another 300 ft up at least. PRETTY COOL!

Eric near our campsite I think.

While we were eating some dinner of tuna, bread and crackers…the clouds opened up and we caught a glimpse of the sunset light. It was magnificent!

A little higher and past where we camped, there were some old Inca ruins like this. They were pretty cool to see. It was like no one had ever found them before. We were told about them…but still.

Haha!!! I went way up there!! And dude, I took thee worst possible way down. Didn´t intend it that way, but no path…not very smart. But I´m alive.

My shoes are not waterproof. Kinda crappy.

Eric in the fog.

Eric and Ginger on the way down.

Candice´s shoe was rubbing her Achille’s raw, so thankfully Ginger had a first-aid kit and doctored her up a bit.

Ginger and Annie helped a little old lady down the stairs near Obrajillo.

And here’s your parting shot…a majestic tree in the fog.
