I can not believe I am only 3 days away from leaving for Training Camp in Georgia, time has absolutely been flying! (unfortunately) I am looking forward to Training Camp for multiple reasons; first off, i think that it will provide a glimpse of how awesome worship will be on the Race, how much potential there is for growth in my life through Christ, a better understanding of who I am as a person and who God wants me to be. Second, I get to meet the people whom i will be spending 24/7 for 330-ish days with, in essence, I am meeting my new family and that is an exciting thought! (Not that I don't love the family that I have here at home, because I do!) I am very busy trying to get all of my loose ends tied up before TC, as well as before I leave.
Prayer Requests:
-God would continue to easy my anxieties and love my fears away, because perfect love drowns out fear
-My girlfriend and I have chosen to remain together for the WR (not that it was ever really a question of breaking up or not) and it is very difficult for us because she has to go back to school a month early, so we have a month less time together before I leave for 11 months; essentially we will be apart for a year. This can potentially put a lot of strain on a relationship, BUT it also can prove to strengthen us more than any other experience we have gone through thus far (and that is what we need prayer for). That God would grow each of us individually so that when we do reunite, we are stronger than before, that He would comfort us in times of missing each other and remind us that we love Him FIRST, and then we love each other out of the love that He gives to us.
-Funds: As an update, I still am about 1/3 funded for my trip, and thanks to all of you I have reached all of my goals thus far for timing and where I need to be monetarily based on my departure! I need your help and your prayers to continue my fundraising efforts! If you have an idea for a fundraiser, shoot me an email, or comment on this blog!! I need all the ideas that I can get!
Thank you all for your prayers, I can not relay to you how much they mean to me!
Until next time!
PS. If there are any former WR's reading this, (even future WR's reading this that have gotten great advice from former WR's) and you have tips for me, I would greatly appreciate them!! Packing ideas, needs vs don't needs, etc.
