BlOGPOST GUATEMALA! Episode #4 – Say My Name, Say My Name

So while teaching a class on “identity” today, I have decide to be called by a different name. Well actually it is still my christened name, but today it takes on new importance. In the lesson plan there was a section on names and how that is one of the ways we find our identity. The exercise called for the children finding out what their names meanings were. I have known the meaning of my first name and middle name for most of my life. Ryan means “little king” and Michael means “Who is like God?” I thought about my middle name all day today. Michael is my father’s middle name and I hope to pass it on one day if I have a son. I really like my middle name. I want to live up to the name that I have been giving. Ryan reminds me to be a royal priesthood set apart unto God, and Michael that declares “Who is like God?” is always the cry of my heart that I would be a warrior prince for His glory reflecting his character and nature. So starting today I want to be called Ryan-Michael Miller. Dramatic, I know, but hey I am a singer and performer and sounds good in that arena. But seriously I from this day forward will introduce myself as “Ryan-Michael”. It feels weird at first for even me after 24 years of doing things but hey, out with the old and in with the …old? Anyway I am really excited about this, so back home start practicing because when I get back you will be talking to RYAN MICHAEL MILLER!
