Greetings In Christ,

I hope this letter finds you in the joy of the Lord! I am thankful that I serve a God who knows me and is with me in every step I take. So, I write to you with great enthusiasm to tell you what God has been doing in my heart and where he is leading me in the coming months.

I graduated from college at LSU this spring (2011) and I am very thankful to have finished well and received my degrees in Music and Business. For the past few years and more intensively the past few months, I have felt something stirring deep in my soul and realized that the Lord was trying to get my attention. On the threshold of moving into the career/adulthood phase of my life I was anxiously planning the start of pursuing my dreams and building my new life from the abundance of freedoms, possibilities, and opportunities with which I have been blessed. But in June 2011 the Lord mercifully showed me my heart and that my true dependency was reliant on what I could achieve and that I was more concerned about building my kingdom than His. He then pointed me to a scripture in I Timothy 4:7 where Paul talks about training yourself in Godliness and putting the myths of this world behind you. I needed to put to death the worldly myth that life was about doing what I thought was the best for me first and then claim it as Gods. I knew I needed to let the Lord reprogram my mind to help me serve His heart first and silence the voices of a self-centered, comfortable, instant gratification, sense of entitlement society we confront at home everyday. As I began to pray I sensed the Lord directing me to truly put my “self” on the altar. Going into a new land I shall know the true amazing power of trusting in God when all that is familiar is stripped away, left only to be reliant on the His Spirit. Through this reliance in Him, He will change me, equip me, and use me for His glory in His plan for my life. God then put a burden in my heart I had never known, to bring the Good News and Christ’s love to the nations.

After much prayer and counsel from family, disciples, missionaries, and most importantly the guiding of the Holy Spirit, God has called me to give the next year of my life in missionary service. I will serve as a missionary through an organization called Adventures in Missions, in their World Race program. The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. The World Race is a community of believers seeking God’s heart to serve and bring Him to the nations. On my race our team will partner with churches and ministries around the globe to preach the gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to those trapped in sex trafficking, and bring the restoration and love of the Father to the poor, broken, sick, and oppressed. I know God has led me to this place and now I trust that He will provide the way for me to go. My question for you now is if you will consider partnering with me prayerfully and financially to go where God has called me. I need $15,500 in order to make this possible, which covers all expenses on the field. There will also be a need for certain camping and travel gear that is not included and any direct purchase or donations would be appreciated. Financial donations can be given as a one-time gift or monthly, specific to how many months and the amount you would choose to give. To give you an idea of the big picture, if 25 people pledged $50 a month for 12 months, I would be totally funded!

If you decide to contribute to the building of Gods kingdom by helping to send me, realize that I am going as a representative of our partnership to see the world changed for the glory of God. We all have a role in the body of Christ and the many parts support each other in making ministry happen. I encourage you to please pray and seek the Lord’s leading in whatever capacity you could partner with me in this ministry. Because His Word says, “it is better to obey than to sacrifice”, I want you to honor and obey God, in what he would have you do. I am eternally grateful for God giving me this amazing opportunity to serve Him around the world, and I am eternally thankful for any prayer, spiritual, and fiscal support you can provide while I am gone. Listed below are directions on how to give, contact info, as well as links to online resources and media to follow me on my journey. I would love to hear from and speak to you all individually! May the good Lord bless and keep you!

IN HIS GRIP,
RYAN M MILLER
