BLOGPOST LAUNCH! Episode #2 – God Is In Control
The “World Race 2012” week one is finally in the books! What a whirlwind of change it has been. Last Tuesday as I sat in the Baton Rouge airport, I felt this sudden urge to lean over to my dog and say, “Toto, I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore.” Funny thing is I don’t have a dog and hadn’t even boarded my first of many airplanes. Yet the “supposed to be” future feelings of the unfamiliar were very much present. So while having a biscuit and a cup of coffee I ran the gambit of my thoughts and emotions to come to one final conclusion… “God is in control”
I flew from Baton Rouge to Fort Lauderdale for “LAUNCH” where I reunited with my squad and team for the first time since the end of training camp. We had a wonderful time of worship, prayer, team building, and continued training. We were able to focus our hearts and minds to the task ahead and even able to minister. As we were praying one night on the streets outside the church a man named “Slim” wandered up to our group where we were giving personal testimony. He came up to me and told me ever since we showed up there was less crime and peace in the neighborhood and he knew it was God, wanted to be free of drinking, the wrong crowds he associated himself with, and get right with God. We were all able to lay hands on him, pray for him, encourage him, love him, and send him off with the peace of God. It was really a spirit led moment of ministry.
The Lord also spoke mightily to me personally during this time. There were three things specifically I recorded and have prayed about. I really ask you partner with me in prayer on these!
The Overflow – Anything we can give to others has to come by way of the overflow in our own walk with God, we from ourselves cannot give what people truly need and that is Lord Himself. This simple yet important thing is crucial in ministry. More on this topic later this week in another blog ….
Thailand – I was impressed to pray for a thirsty people in Thailand. This could be spiritual thirst or physical thirst. Trusting God for that would appreciate your prayers.
Romania – God has birthed a vision of ministry in my heart for this place while I’m there and to pray God would soften the hearts of the people to receive what the Lord has for them.
We left Thursday night, took a bus then a train to the Miami Airport, slept in the airport that night, and finally made it to Guatemala City Friday afternoon. We then drove to beautiful Antigua where we will base camp for a month teaching bible in a high school, work in the Hospital with cerebral palsy children, and care for the elderly. Please pray for protection, favor, and most of all the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Video blog and exciting stories from Antigua coming soon! One evolves a miracle of Gods provision and reward for obedience after ministering to a sick drunk man in the market alleyway!
Stand on the Truth, Walk in the Light, and Rest in His Love.
