Why the World Race?
Part 1

Am I a disciple of Jesus Christ? Do the words that Jesus spoke to His disciples apply to me? What about His words, “go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone,” Mark 16:15, or “go and make disciples of all nations,” Matthew 28:19.

In John 20 Jesus reappears to His disciples after he rose from the dead, and He says, “As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.” He didn’t say stay. Jesus gave His disciples a spiritual mandate to go and proclaim His Kingdom. They didn’t need to ponder if it was the Lords will. Jesus had made it clear.

So one reason I feel led to go on the World Race is, it gives me opportunity to fulfill this mandate.

On this mission adventure I will be serving the least of these.

Matthew 25:40 “And the king will say, ‘ I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!.’”

I will be serving the poorest in the world. The truest of the poor. People without any kind of welfare.

I am going to build up others.

1 Thesselonians 5:11 says, “ encourage each other and build each other up…”

I am also going to build up myself.

Jude 1:20 NIV says, “ build yourself up in your most holy faith.”  John 3:30 “ He must become greater; I must become less.” I want to say these words along with John, as I make this my main focus and prayer throughout my journey.

Why the World Race?…………… to be continued.
