What is the first thing you think of when you think of Japan? Some think of sushi or sumo wrestling or anime. Something that I have started to think of this month is when I think of Japan I think of history. The Lord most high also has Japan in his hands just like the rest of the world. This has been one of my favorite months as we wrap up our race in Asia. The Lord has been revealing a couple things to me this month.
First one being history
U Squad is the first world race squad to come to Japan. History is in the making here as we pave a way for future racers for them to continue what we have started for the Kingdom. This month has been Luke 10 faith. Luke 10 is the story where Jesus sends out the 72 and tells them to go to a house and stay there eating and drinking what is set before them. This is what my team has been doing staying with am amazing family and embracing the culture and enjoying the food before us. The family are not Christians, which is such a way to show and tell em bout Jesus. As we continue living Luke 10 faith we have been asking the Lord for direction and where and who he wants us to talk to. They are called treasure hunts cause that is the treasure in God’s eyes; I like to call them divine appointments.
Being the first team here, doing new things, and seeking the Lord and he gave me the word history. It reminds me of a powerful song from Matthew West. You probably can guess what it is called, if you guessed future try again, its called history. This song can go with every country we have been to and will go to. The lyrics ring such truth! Some of the lines I believe fit in so well with going some place new where people will follow.
Would you believe that you are history in the making? Every step we are taking, every word that we are saying, every prayer that we are praying, every choice that we are making, and every chain we are breaking, guess what history is in the making. Think about that thought for a moment. Everything we do history is in the making. May it remind us the day, the day that love made history. We are making history here in Japan.
While here, someone got a vision of me. The vision was I’m a racecar, not only a racecar but a racecar driver going very fast. That thought hit home when I was riding a bike home worshipping the Lord. He saw me driving very fast towards the Lord and wanted to race after him and invite others with me. Paul says it quite well in 2 Timothy 2:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” May this be my prayer as I invite others on this journey with me and have them make history with me.
Second thing is be like a child
When we were not asking the Lord for a divine appointment we were teaching preschoolers. Sang songs with them, played with them, watched them play, read them stories from the Bible, ate lunch with them, and told them what it really means to follow Jesus. Seeing them volunteer to pray for kids and teachers who are at school and who are not there is incredible. They pray for them by name! Seeing them be faithful in that and always wanted to sit on your lap, I feel the love in these children. I see them going to Jesus. Matthew 19:14, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” This is what I am seeing in these kids. For example in my last day with them. End of the day I told them how I became a missionary and the kids came and laid hands on us and prayed for us. I see the kingdom being built in them when they do things like this.
As we start this year lets make history for the Kingdom. No matter what we do history is being made and may it remind us the day that love made history. Let us be like children and how they run to their parents and want to learn from them and watch them, lets be like those children. May we learn from the Lord and watch him that his Kingdom would be furthered as we are in tune with his spirit.
Lets go make history!
