Hey amazing supporters and friends!
Just got a moment to send you all a quick update. We have safely arrived in Cambodia…after a long bus ride and a sketchy border crossing…we are here! For the first few days we stayed as a squad (40 of us) in Siem Reap. Which is a city close to Angkor Wat. One of the largest and most amazing looking temples ever built. We went to visit it at sunrise and it was an amazing site to see the sun rise over the temple.
I am on a new team now…our new team name is “Surge 12:9” and I am no longer a team leader…but now I am serving on our squads Logistics team! And I love it. I basicly help with travel arrangements and all the back end stuff to keep us moving as a squad of 40 people to get from point A to point B and take care of finances, and needs for communication and set up for new countries we go to.
This month my new team and I are working with a ministry called “House of Joy” it is a school located on a remote island in southern cambodia near Vietnam surrounded by rice patties. It is a school that teaches English to the local kids and provides free education to all the kids in the village and prepares them to go to University. We teach 2 English classes a day to the young kids in the village and then at night we have an english session for the teenagers and hang out with them and learn about each others culture.
I am excited to be celebrating Christmas on an island surrounded by rice patties with a new team in Cambodia. I have so much in my life to be thankful for. And can’t wait to see what God has for me next!
More to come soon….
Love you all
Ryan
