Welcome to Kathmandu, Nepal…”The
Top of the World!” I have grown up hearing names like Kathmandu,
Kalamazoo, and Timbuktu, and I have always thought they were made up
places. Well today I am here to tell you that they are very real! I
have never been to Nepal before in my life, nor did I know anything
about it. I didn’t realize that Nepal is the home of Mt. Everest, and
is considered to be the top of the world. That the people here are
beautiful, friendly, and warm. That the weather in Nepal would be the
best I have had in over a year of non-stop summer weather! This
country is beautiful, it takes your breath away, everywhere you look,
large mountains overlapping one another each dominating the next
getting higher and higher, almost close enough to touch heaven. I am
so blessed to be here in the country of Nepal this month.

For ministry this month we are working
with “Nepal Christian Ministries”. We are living with the leader
of this ministry, his name is Peter. We are living in the suburbs of
the capital city Kathmandu. We do prayer walks through out the city,
around temples, shrines, and places of worship for the Hindu’s, and
Buddhist. We have to pray silently because we were told that if we
pray out loud in those areas that we would be killed. We also have
fellowship in small homes with a small group of believers about 10 –
15 people. And we go out and pray for this sick. We live in a house
with about 15 orphans that have been taken in by Peter and his wife.
Everyday when we come home the children are waiting for us and line
up by the door and hug every one of us and tell us they love us. The
love and excitement for Christ in this home is awesome, and life
giving!

In a few weeks we are going to go
mountain trekking and camping on a large mountain range near
Kathmandu. I am excited to go camping in the Himalayas, and see God’s
creation. We are also considering doing one of many other crazy
adventure options in this country, such as sky diving, worlds tallest
rope swing, wild bore hunting, or a Mt. Everest mountain flight!

I am praying for a few things to
happen this month, so please join me in prayer for the following:

  1. Pray for Anu’s healing! She is a
friend of our contact this month. She was in an accident 7 months
ago that left her paralyzed from the waist down. We prayed for her
the first day we arrived and she was able to stand for the first
time in 7 months, but still has a lot of pain and sore muscles. We
are believing in her complete healing in the name of Jesus! And her
birthday is on May 18th and it is our prayer that she
will be able to walk and dance for God on her birthday!

  2. Clarity in the decisions I make
for plans after The World Race is complete. We got our finish date
and we are done on July 30th. God is opening some huge
doors for me and it is exciting.

  3. I want to see Mt. Everest before I
    leave Nepal!!!!!

I am excited to see the power of the
kingdom of heaven released upon the nation of Nepal and lives be
forever transformed from it. I love you all! If you have any prayer
request please let me know and e-mail me, my team and I would love to
pray for you!

Love

Ryan
