Let the adventure begin! Im in my best
friends pick up truck right now making tracks across America to
Colorado as I prepare for my departure for The World Race. I just
finished getting rid of the rest of my stuff back home…gave it all
away…everything from extra clothes.. TV…furniture and my car! All
Gone! As I gave my belongings away freely to those that needed them
around me…It really made me realize just how blessed I am. I am
blessed beyond measure in all things in my life.
Last week during a time of worship at
bible study we were all praying and asking for god to show us
ourselves as a garden, and see what Jesus was doing in our garden and
to see what areas of our garden needed to work on! Well as we were
worshiping I was praying for revelation on this and as I did God gave
me this amazing vision!
I remember stepping out into my garden
and it was full of sunflowers, and they were in rows that you could
walk up and down. And they were all very tall and big and bright. I
started to walk through this garden to look for Jesus and see where
he was in my garden. As I was walking up one of the rows Jesus ran
past me and yelled back “come get me” so I ran after him…He
wanted me to play catch with him. When I finally caught up with him I
remember feeling so happy and he pulled out a gift from behind his
back to hand me. And when he handed me the gift I told him “It’s
not my birthday! Why are you giving me a gift?” He looked me right
in the eye and his eyes were full of passion and said to me “I did
it because I Love you” at this point I began to cry tears of
happiness. I felt so loved. Then as I was opening the gift he ran off
again and wanted me to run after him again. So I took off running
after Jesus again in my sunflower garden. When I caught him again I
was so happy. And then he gave me another gift! I looked at him again
and this time said “But Jesus…I don’t deserve this…why do you
keep giving me gifts I didn’t do anything to earn them?” He
looked at me and said “You don’t earn them…I do it because I love
you!” and this continued over and over again…Jesus kept asking me
to chase after him and he kept giving me gifts.
After this vision it made me realize
just how blessed I am. And it isn’t because I have earned it or
have done anything to receive these blessings. It is simply because I
am a child of God…and He loves me. Our god loves us so much that he
loves to surprise us even when it isn’t our birthday or a holiday
or because we earned it or did something for him…He just loves to
give us gifts because he loves us so much! I have truly been blessed
in my life with so much! And it makes me really excited to use those
blessings to bless others!
The last week has been great spending
time with family and friends that I love a lot and saying goodbye as
I packed up to leave Virginia and go on this awesome adventure with a
bunch of crazy people that believe God for the same things as I do
and want to travel the world with a backpack and dream…a Hope…for
the time to just be in relationship with Him! Jesus!
To those of you back home reading this
please know that I love you ALL! I miss you already! And will be
praying for you all the time and will be excited to hear reports from
back home of how god is moving in your life!
