As I was thinking of what to write about for my next blog, I feel like someone answered that for me… And that would be little miss beautiful Mikayla Donahue. Some of you reading this may know all about what’s happening in this little girl’s life, but some of you may not. This girl, is fighting Leukemia. And she has been for a while. But let me tell you something. She is not alone. At least, that’s what she’s telling everybody.
As she is fighting this cancer, someone has been right next to her this whole time. He’s been there ever since she was first diagnosed, and He hasn’t left.. and He never will leave. Jesus has been right next to her this whole time, and is healing and moving inside of her. She has not been dealt a fun or easy hand, but she is defeating this with her Lord right next to her. Just picture this… As she’s laying there sick in bed, Jesus is sitting right beside her, looking at her. He’s holding her hand, saying “Look at me, don’t give up. I’m here. And I’ll never leave you… I love you.” And I believe, that Mikayla would agree with that picture.
This amazing middle school girl knows. Her King is alive and moving all around her. And I pray that He continues to overwhelm her with His presence. But as she’s fighting this, she’s not alone. She never has been and she never will be.
There’s something about seeing young kids look to God. There’s something about seeing them worship. There’s something about seeing them praise him. There’s something about their voice. There’s something about seeing that little girl or little boy, put their hands up to the sky, to surrender themselves to Jesus. There’s just something about seeing kids seeing Jesus… Maybe it’s because of their innocence. Maybe it’s because of how young and harmless they are. Maybe it’s because they can’t see all the obstacles that get in our way. Maybe it’s because they see the good in everybody. Maybe. It’s because that’s how we’re supposed to be. Maybe, they see Him more clearly than we do…
Matthew 10:14-16
14 When Jesus saw what was happening, he was angry with his disciples. He said to them,“Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. 15 I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.” 16 Then he took the children in his arms and placed his hands on their heads and blessed them.
It’s people like Mikayla that show us the hope and love that comes from Jesus Christ. This world pushes us down. So much hurt, pain, corruption, and disease have filled the atmosphere of this world. But when people like Mikayla show faith, hope, and love through the power of what Jesus Christ did on the cross, there is ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING that can hold us back from the love of our KING! When the world shows everyone doubt, Christ gives us the faith! When everything seems hopeless, Jesus gives us hope! And we were are so far down and alone and can’t go any further, JESUS CHRIST permeates our souls and overflows love within us! You are NOT ALONE. For the King has risen! And He is very much alive! It doesn’t matter what you’ve done. It doesn’t matter who you are. It doesn’t matter how far away you may seem. He is right there… and always has been. And His arms will always be open.
Everyone has a battle to fight. Fight it with Christ. For what He did on the cross, means that you are already victorious. You cannot be beat when Jesus is standing there right beside you. He’s King for a reason. He’s a King that has defeated this world! And His love penetrates any and every barrier, and His light permeates and casts out all darkness! The King that died and resurrected is standing right in front of us. Let’s all come together and recognize the beauty of what Jesus did on the cross. And because of that, we are not alone. Let that sink in… Please. Let that sink in.
I have witnessed an amazing young girl, fighting this Leukemia disease, sing, “I am not alone! I am not alone! You will go before me, You will never leave me!” THAT! IS POWERFUL! And that is Jesus inside of a beautiful little girl. And when we walk with Jesus and recognize Him being right there beside us, the more we can shout, “I am not alone! I am not alone! You will go before me, You will never leave me!” OUR KING IS HERE!! And He’s longing for YOU and ME, to look up and to truly BELIEVE that we are NOT ALONE! When we have hearts that can truly believe and see that we are not alone and that Jesus Christ is right beside us, SATAN HIMSELF BETTER GET OUT OF THE WAY! WE WILL SHAKE THIS WORLD! WE WILL OVERCOME THIS WORLD!! WE WILL SHOW THE LOVE OF CHRIST TO EVERY PERSON ON THIS PLANET!!! AND WE WILL REIGN VICTORIOUS OVER SIN AND DEATH ITSELF!!!!
C’mon! Please… think about what Mikayla was singing… “I am not alone” He is here. Think about that… And just like Mikayla is doing. Let’s show Satan who’s the real boss… And let’s change this world. Let’s show the world Jesus… Just like Mikayla is doing.
