2nd continent,

4th month,

New language,

New weather,

New Teammates,

….and I love it all!

Can you believe it is already month 4? I am amazed at what God has done and cannot believe we are in a new continent already. Albania is beautiful, cold, and very different from South America. The language is very difficult but we are slowly learning. Oh, did I mention that teams changed a few weeks ago?

The past three months I have been with Team Qodesh: Kristen Aperfine (team leader), Joshua Marshman, Benjamin Swain, Molly Tkacik and Kursti Bailey. They are my brothers and sisters and I cannot imagine doing South America without them. Teams usually change at the end of month 3 and so we knew it was possible that we would be split up. But we trust that God knows better than us what we need. And so before we left Bolivia we learned our new teams.

It turned out that my old team did not change much at all! My team leader, Kristen A. became the new squad leader. This means she is in charge of the whole big group (about 50 of us) who all travel to the same countries. I am so proud of her and excited to see God use her in this incredible role.

The rest of my team will still include Joshua, Ben, Molly and Kursti. AND, we get two new girls! Kristin Frizzel is my new team leader and Jenna Harvey is my new teammate.

My new team leader Kristin! She is wonderful and I love getting to know her.

And this is Jenna. She is my neighbor from Wyoming and is already such a vital part of the team. Love getting to know her as well.

This will bring great new dynamics to the family and I am excited to see what God has in store for us. Our new team is called Living Liberation. We chose this name because we want to live out the freedom that Christ has given us. We also want to see others step into the freedom that Christ gives. Isaiah 61 is our team verse which says:

“He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,” (verse 2)

Our first team memory was spent outside a prison in La Paz. These 3 women are the wives of prisoners inside. they were beautiful and so real with us.

Please read Jenna’s blog to find out a little more background for our team name. We had an interesting first “team memory” on our first day together. You can find her blog here:
