So I’ve decided
that for the next 26 posts I’m going to give it the title of an attribute of
God and begin with a praise of Him. So the first one is AWESOME! Cuz God is
awesome and He’s been showing me more and more just how awesome He is. Here’s
why!
First reason God is
awesome – I had my second yard sale this past Saturday and, while I didn’t get
rid of a lot of stuff, I had a lot of people leave donations. AND the first
people to stop by was great! The lady was in charge of a prayer chain at a
church plant in Sharpsburg and talked to me about their ministry and said she’d
pass out my cards and add me to the prayer chain. God gave me a great start!
Most of you don’t
know this, but I have always struggled with being able to swallow pills. I’m
horrible at it. I usually end up chewing them and dealing with the taste 😛 But
I had to begin taking the pills for my typhoid vaccine this morning so I prayed
really, really, really hard that God would help me to be able to swallow them
without a problem (and for no ill side effects or problems as an extra measure
of precaution since God sometimes has a funky sense of humor). I’ve prayed
before but still had problems but this time, it was like the pill wasn’t even
there. I took a gulp of water and BAM! The pill was gone. It was such a God
thing that all I could do was laugh and shake my head as I looked up and told
Him thanks.
The third major
reason today that God is awesome – I went to a different church with one of my
friends. While the worship wasn’t as good as what I had experienced at training
camp, it was still awesome and I was able to stand in the back and raise my
hands and dance. The best thing was that the speaker was a pastor visiting from
Nicaragua. His sermon was on how we should be in both the natural and
supernatural world, fully aware of God; and that we need to live radically
for Him. Wow. I was like, this is awesome because this is exactly how
I’m going to be trying to live the next year of my life.
