I say none of this to boast in my own strength. This is the journey the Lord has taken me on simply because I was obedient and said yes. He has used a small town boy from tiny ole Arkansas to be a change agent to HIS world. It has been a fun ride! But it doesnt have to end – it’s not ending. It’s just going to look a little different. I’m ready to get home, to see family, friends, familiar faces, talk to people who speak ENGLISH as their first language, and hopefully I can be Jesus to everyone. Not by preaching at people or using fancy words, but by just listening, loving and praying for them.

In the past year and a half I’ve been to 17 countries on five different continents.

I haven’t slept in the same place for more than 5 weeks.

I’ve preached the love of Jesus all around the world.

I’ve seen people come to christ all around the world.

I’ve seen demons cast out of people all around the world.

I’ve seen miracles all around the world. My favorite one was in Northern India. We were praying for this guy and he was laying on the ground and we noticed one leg was an inch shorter than the other. So we prayed for lengthing and WOW – next thing you know, his legs are the same length.

I’ve seen kids sick with malaria healed within minutes.

I’ve seen Machu Pichu in Peru, the Angwor Wats ruins in Cambodia and the Great Wall in China. However, I passed up the Taj Mahal in India because i wanted to save money:). So that’s 3 of the 7 world’s wonders.

I’ve lived in two of the world’s largest mountain ranges – the Andes and Himilayas.

I lived in a boat on the Amazon River.

I lived in the Bolivian rainforest.

I’ve spent 223 hours in a plane – a little more than 9 days.

I’ve circled the globe twice!

Once in a six day stretch I flew from Capetown, South Africa to Johannesburg to Paris (where i had breakfast at the eifel tower) then to Cinncinati, then to Atlanta to Dakar, Senegal and finally back to Johannesburg. But I wasn’t done – then I bused to Manzini, Swaziland. And again, I did all this IN 6 DAYS! The reason is because I accompanied a girl from our team back to the states after her dad died unexpectedly.

I slept in a game park in Swaziland 30 yards from a man eating lion for a month solid. All that seperated us was a tiny chain linked fence.

I’ve been broke down in Dehli, India in the middle of the night.

I got in a motorcyle accident in Dehli. The brakes went out and we laid the bike down and slid across the pavement. FUN TIMES:)

I was nearly killed by a crazy monkey in Northern India.

I spent a weekend in Kathmandu, Nepal.

I’ve traveled by train, plane, bus, boat, bike – anything you could imagine.

I’ve been cramped on buses with Africans, Peruvians, Bolivians, Indians, Thai people and many more folks with armpits in my face!

I’ve been to several embasseys and filled out tons of visa applications.

We got 21 India visas and 4 new US passports in TWO DAYS.

I spent two nights camping on the shore of the India Ocean in Mozambique.

I’ve seen where the Atlantic Ocean and India Ocean come together at the Southern tip of Africa.

I’ve been snorkeling in Thailand.

I climbed a 17,000 foot mountain in Boliva. Thing is though, we were already at an elevation of 14,000. So we only ascended 3,000 feet – but the view ABOVE the clouds at the top was amazing!

I got stung by 37 bees in Bolivia while chainsawing down trees at an orphanage – good thing I wasn’t allegeric:)

I’ve been in some of the biggest cities on the planet:
Lima – 10 million
Beijing – 30 million
Dehli – 22 million
Bangkok – 18 million
Manila – 12 million
Hong Kong – 8 million (MY FAVORITE)
Paris and Johannesburg

I’ve lived in complete poverty and total luxury – all within days of each other.

I’ve taken cold bucket showers and hot real showers – all within days of each other.

I have been in tremendous “want”, but never in need.

I know what it is to have plenty and I know what it is to have very little.

I’ve eaten chicken feet, chicken heads and fried bee larva!

I’ve eaten more rice than i care to say:)

And lastly, me and 19 of my squadmates had guns put in our faces, to our backs and to our heads while men robbed us at our hostel in Johannesburg, South Africa.
 
And all these things have happened within the last 19 months of my life. I think the most important lesson I’ve learned is this:
 
Paul says it best in his letter to the Philippian church, “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do everything through him who gives me strength.”
