As the squad leader for the January 2008 World Race team, I’ve been keeping up with everything God has been doing through us and in us over the last five weeks. I call it my “God did list!” I just feel like it’s a good way to remind everyone at the end of each month how faithful and amazing our God really is. But it’s not just for my teammates, it’s also for ya’ll – my blog readers. I consider all of you my supporters, whether you give money, send up prayers, post comments, or just read and watch my posts – I love and appreciate everything you guys do! And my contribution to this team and the “God did list” WOULD NOT be possible without all you folks. So thank you very much.

Real quick, before I get into the list I want to update ya’ll on my support raising. Right now I’ve got around $10,500 in my Adventures in Missions account. I need $9,500 more. I know so many of you have given so much and I’m not asking ya’ll for more. I truly believe God is going to bring this money in from some pretty crazy and unlikely places. This is the fun part – watching God blow me away. So if anyone wants to help me out on this journey you can do so by clicking the “Support Me” link.

God Did List:

1. Healed a little girl who had bronchitis.

2. Healed our teammate Kelton who had been struggling with allergies.

3. Healed our teammate Caroline’s eye.

4. God placed us in a home in which one of the family members died while some of our group was there. They had a chance to pray for the family and on behalf of the family during this tragic time. On that day a beautiful relationship was formed between the family and our group – which leads to number 5:)

5. A couple weeks later, the sister of the lady who passed away told Nate, Robby, Kelton and Matt S. that she kept seeing a “beast” everytime she closed her eyes. That of course prompted our four guys to pray for her, one thing led to another and the next thing they knew all four were shouting for this “beast” come out of her! Moments later she was delivered. AWESOME STUFF!

6. A lady had her hearing partially restored.

7. Tons and tons of fun games and activities brought to the kids of Chicha, Peru. Since the earthquake in August their lives have been turned upside down. These sweet kiddos deserve to be kids and we gave them that chance each and every day.

8. Countless prayers for countless families have been lifted up to God.

9. We have brought the life-giving light of the Lord into some pretty spiritually dark places.

10. In the course of just five weeks we have seen a huge difference in the faces and attitudes of the families in Tambo De Mora and Los Jardines (The two places we’ve been working in Chincha)

11. The change in this team has blown me away. Christ’s love is radiant in each and every one of us. It’s been tough at times, but He has been faithful to bring us through it all! We are truly becoming the body of Christ. It’s a freakin’ cool process to witness:)

12. Thanks to everyone’s blogs, we are giving the voiceless a voice and the faceless a face.

13. The city of Chincha bought Los Jardines a bunch of plants so we could build a park in their community.

14. We were able to get the whole community of Tambo De Mora fumagated for FREE! The bugs there were CRAZY!

15. We also got the dogs treated for fleas as well – also for FREE!

16. Healed a lady’s back.

17. Several homes got new tarp roofs.

18. We were able to get a little girl a brain scan. She has been unable to move and her family could not afford the cost of finding out what was wrong with her. Now, the best part is, thru the blog of one of our racers, a doctor back in the states has found out about the story and he is working to get a specialist down to see the little girl, to see if something more can be done to heal this child.

19. After MUCH DIGGING, Los Jardines is getting plumbing (real flushing toilets) and electricity.

20. We had movie night at one of the squares and played “Passion of the Christ”

21. More than $800 was raised amongst the team for the purchase of some land in Los Jardines. This land will be the future site of a church in that community.

22. The best part is through all these great things we saw countless people come to know the Lord!

There are so many more personal stories on this list, but I just wanted to publish the high points so ya’ll can see what we’ve been seeing. And that’s God’s power and Kingdom is ALIVE AND WELL here in Chincha, Peru. Praise God!

The next stop for our team will be a 3-day debrief in Lima, today thru the 14th. Then on the 15th we’ll fly to Iquitos, Peru to start our ministry in the Amazon. We’ll be there about 30 days. Please pray for great amounts of love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control to be poured out on us. We’re going to be dealing with more heat and more bugs. God give us YOUR strength!
