It’s been a few months since my last update, so I wanted to check in and let you know what I’ve learned since then (spoiler warning: it’s not much).
If you’d like a refresher or need to get caught up to speed on where things sit as far as whether or not my trip will happen on schedule as planned, please read my previous update by clicking here.
Other than the information I shared there, the only new thing I know is an “official call” date that will serve as the definitive Go or No-Go decision for whether things get changed or not.
That date is August 1st.
I’m told that we can expect to be told on or before August 1st whether out trip is green-lit as is, will be changed, or will be pushed to a later date.
What this means for me:
I will continue to pray and prepare for a trip that may or may not happen.
I will continue to work to finish out this last semester of grad school while tentatively exploring possibilities for what to do should my trip get cancelled or delayed.
I will continue to not freak out or stress over my lack of control, and will continue to work to stay mentally flexible while adapting to an evolving situation.
This is an incredible opportunity to practice acknowledging my powerlessness over the workings of the universe, and placing my future squarely on the shoulders of the One Who made it in the first place, while holding every potential possibility with an open palm.
This. Is. Not. Easy.
But with your prayers and support alongside God’s, I know it’s possible.
What this means for you:
Please continue to pray for and support me in this process. I need it. I need you.
Please continue to consider donating financially to this cause. If I end up getting the green light in August, I still have a long way to go towards my goal. Also, if I don’t end up going because the trip is cancelled or postponed, you have the option of being reimbursed if you donated through the link on my blog or by clicking here. (NOTE: only money contributed through this means is eligible for reimbursement should my trip be cancelled)
Please also always feel free to reach out to me with any other questions or concerns you might have about anything concerning my trip, and ESPECIALLY if you feel there is an opportunity to put me in front of someone or some group you know who might like to help!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT
Thank you so much for you support, seriously. I know, especially with everything going on in the world right now, there are a seemingly endless number of places you could choose to focus your attention, energy, and finances, so I truly am humbled and blessed for any I receive. Thank you.
