Malaysia has been nothing like I imagined. It is a country where it is not easy being Christian. It is a country where it is not okay to speak about God unless it is to a Christian. There is a lot of prosecution  from family members, you community, friends, and neighbors.

The people here are so kind and incredible, we worked with a pastor and his church. We had the opportunity to work with the youth , the little kids, preach at the church, sing, and do house visits. We got to stay with Pastor Thomas’s mother while we were there. Her name is Prema, she is a selfless, caring, strong, and loving woman. Throughout the week we had many opportunities to learn, grow, and be a part of the community. This is all about our second week in Malaysia.

Monday:

Our week began with interceding for the country, interceding means that you pray on behalf of someone/something else. During the morning, we prayed over the house and our room, for God’s protection and security and that we will build relationships with the people here in Malaysia. We then went out into the neighborhood and prayed for the people here. I loved the whole experience, I have never done intercessions like this. We then had time between lunch and dinner to relax, do a few things of our own, and we usually have team time ( My team gets together and every day of the week is different). After dinner, all of us were separated and went to three different house to have fellowship. It was a new experience for me. Once we got there, we were the ones leading it.  We started with Worship and got to know the people there. We shared testimonies, asked for prayer requests, and prayed together. They were the kindest people, they even had cookies and tea for us. Time went by so fast, it was amazing and I loved it. We then went home around 11 pm and went to bed.

Tuesday :

Today I did something different then most of the group,  fives of us went to a special needs school. We danced with the kids and began teaching the class, I had nothing prepared. I drew different designs and had the kids color them, there were six kids there. It was hard because most of them could not talk and if they could, we didn’t speak the same language. After a few hours, at lunch time, we went back home. From lunch and dinner we had free time, like we do most days. We then went to the church and had a prayer meeting. We started with worship and then separated into four groups. Each group prayed for two different things, my group prayed for the presence of God and mind deliverance. We then proceeded to talk and pray over a lady that was next to me. It was getting late and it was time to leave home.

Wednesday :

This morning we had intercession. I prayed over my squad, that we will have Joy and peace where we are and contentment in the fact that we may not see the harvest but that we will be able to plant seed. I prayed over Malaysia, that they will know that He is the protector and guardian they need. That the fire he started here in Malaysia will never go out and only shine brighter. I prayed for our Host and the Church that is helping us to be here, that they will be secured and protected. I prayed for Myself, that He will give me strength, help me find joy and peace in all circumstances and for spiritual growth. I prayed for my Team, that we will grow in love, patient, kindness, peace, joy, and community.

After we had lunch and dinner, we had the opportunity to go to a house again and pray for families. We went to a house of the parents of a 18 year old boy we know. We prayed over his family and their circumstances. After his house we went to another house but only four of us (out of the 17) went to this ladies house. She has cancer and we got to pray over her and her family for strength and healing. Then we went back home and to bed.

Thursday :

Today I got the chance to attend the school again. I got to go into a different classroom. We danced, drew, and I got the chance to talk to the teacher for a while before I left. The teacher was not there for most of the time. When the teacher walked in we got a chance to talk. We talked about her life and family. I learned that her dream is to travel to France. After a few hours there it was time to leave. Then we had lunch, rest, and dinner. We went to the church that night,  I did something I have never done before but it was incredible. I got to share my testimony, preach a message that night, and join the band in a song. I have shared my testimony and sang before but I have never shared a message before in front of a congregation. I talked about Matthew 5 : 1-12. I talked about how that when you follow Christ you are going to do things that the World sees as abnormal or strange but that we should not worry about what the world says or worldly approval because we are already loved and approved in Gods eyes. That our Reward is in Heaven. It was a lot of fun and i really enjoy it. Then we left home and went to bed.

Friday :

On Friday morning it was a really chill day. We had intercession in the morning. We rested for most of the day. We were getting ready to go to Pengai, an island near Sungai Petani. We had to pack that day because we were leaving early in the morning. We where going to celebrate my team leaders birthday. Then at night we went to church. A few members of my team choreographed a dance and performed it in front of our church, the song “Our God”. It was really good. Then it was time to home and the end of our week
