Hi friends,

So Africa. It has been a beautiful month here in Zimbabwe. The people are absolutely lovely in every way, and so joy-filled. One thing that I love about the culture here is the dancing! Worship services had a small choir that would begin singing as they got out of their chairs to walk to the front stage singing and dancing the rest of the time. They have fun with the Lord and love worshiping and being in his presence. Needless to say, I was obsessed. I wish this was something that we could take with us back home.

Our ministry this month was to go out to the different schools around the town and perform skits, sing worship songs, and give testimonies or talks. We also had the opportunity to play soccer every evening with our host family and their sports ministry kids. This month felt lighter, but I think it was the Lord giving us a time of rest after the Philippines which was so wonderful, but busy.

For me personally, I started the beginning of the month by asking the Lord and my team to be challenged, and that is exactly what happened. I gave my testimony in front of high school students, led devotionals, ATL (ask the lord) concerning my art, and grew in my hunger for the word and became closer to God in intimacy more than I ever have before. I am able to spend hours just praying and listening to him, and feel as though no time passed at all. He’s made my desire for knowledge of the Bible to just expand and grow. It’s funny though, the closer I get to the Lord, the more I realise just how vast he is and how little I actually know of him. It’s because he is God. He is Lord of all, and as humans to think that our brains can comprehend or try to explain him, is beyond rediculous. That is a part of the faith journey. I love even in that, his power and his love for us go hand in hand. He is as close as the wind on my face, more dear than anyone I know, but I will never be able to comprehend everything about him until that day when we stand before him when our time here is done.

Leaving Zimbabwe I feel full and sad at the same time. I’m leaving a piece of my heart behind with the people here. The further this journey of the world race goes, If I can give one piece of advice from the things I’m learned so far, is INVEST. Love people hard. Make connections, but then keep them going. Disciple. Regardless of who you are, you hold a piece of wisdom learned that you can pass on to someone else. Someone needs what only you can offer, what the Lord has taught you or brought you through. Use this gift.

Thank you to all of my supporters, and anyone who takes time to read these blogs. The Lord has abundantly blessed our time here in Africa, and we are excited to see what the next month in Zambia holds.
