Questions arise as I read His word…
I just don't understand why things play out the way they do…
Maybe it's the historical and cultural background that I don't understand…]
But I believe it is this,
"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the Lord. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts" – Isaiah 55:8-9
I have a difficult time understanding God for the mere fact that He CHOOSES to Use Broken People…
He CHOOSES to Use Broken People to Love other Broken People…
For the last several months, I have been in the Old Testament and I am now in the book of 1 Kings…
I have read over and over again about the Chosen People of God turning over to their evil sinful desires…
Yes, God becomes Angry with them…
He punishes and blesses accordingly…
"For God will bring every deed into judgment including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil" – Ecclesiastes 12:14
That verse alone should scare you!
Scare you to repent and acknowledge God as Lord of all!
"For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise, He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens" – Psalm 96:4-5
Back to my point, God Uses Broken People…
If you read of history of the Israelites, they were always failing to meet the standards of God…
Disappointment, Failure, Pride, Idol Worship, Disobedience, Lack of Trust are just a few of their countless offenses to God….
PLEASE Read the Following Passage of Scripture:
"When they sin against you – for there is NO ONE who does not sin – and you become ANGRY with them and give them over to their enemies, who take them captive to thier own lands, far away or near; and IF they have a Change of Heart in the land where they are held captive, and REPENT and PLEAD with you in theland of theri captors and say, 'We have sinned, we have done wrong, we have acted wickedly'' and if they TURN BACK TO YOU WITH ALL THEIR HEART AND SOUL in the land of their enemies who took them captive, and pray to you toward the land you gave their ancestors, toward the city you have choosen and the temple I have built for your Name; THEN from Heaven, your dwelling place, Hear their prayer and their plea, and uphold thier cause. And FORGIVE your people, who have sinned against you; FORGIVE ALL the offenses they have committed against you, and cause thier captors to show them mercy; for they are YOUR People and YOUR Inheritance, whom you broght out of Egypt, out of that iron-smelting furnace" – 1 Kings 8:46-51
When their is a Change of Heart…
Acknowledge Sin (wrong doing – your offense toward God)
Repent (Seek God's Forgiveness, Accept His Forgiveness and Walk in Freedom)
"And may your Hearts be FULLY COMMITTED to the Lord our God, to LIVE by His Decrees and Obey His Commands" – 1 Kings 8:61
When their is a Change of Heart…
God Uses the Broken!
I am so MESSED UP… I'm BROKEN… I am DIRTY…
BUT Because of Christ…
I am CLEAN… I'm HEALED… I am WORTHY…
Not in my own doing but because God does not think like I do or work like I do…
Because His thoughts are not like my thougths…
Because His ways are not like my ways…
