As I write this blog post…
My Momma is giggling at the fact that I am willing getting shots for the World Race…
For those who don't know…
I Hate Needles! It Freaks me out!

Backstory:
As a kid I would tell my parents and the Doctor…
"WaitWaitWait!" and the next thing you know…
I Was Gone… Trying to make my great escape through the door… If not the door than under the table…
Eventually the inevitable happened… Needles injected into my body…

All that to say…
That I can't believe that I am going on the World Race…
Being a missionary for nearly a year of my life…
Is this really happening…
Am I really giving up my American lifestyle for an unknowning journey ahead…

The most frequent questions asked is….
1. Where are you going?
2. Where are you staying?
3. What will you be doing?

My response…
1. Romania, Ukraine, Ireland, India, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, Thailand, Camobodia and Malyasia… BUT it can be changed at anytime during the race
2. We won't know until we land in that country
3. We won't know until we land in that country (repeatitive, I know)

Living in the unknown is uncomfortable, stretching and ultimately tests my trust in God.

There is a lot of unknown in this obedience to follow the call of God…
I'm not sure if all my funds will be raised before I leave…
Or if it will be until the very last minute…

I can't believe that I, Ruby Lopez will be leaving all I know to live a year in the unknown…
I didn't think I would ever travel the world to preach the gospel to the ends of the earth…
Especially with people I have never met…

THIS IS WILD!!!

I'm not sure if this blog makes total sense but I hope it reaches someone…

PS. I'm going to miss spending time with my Momma and Papa! I love bothering them and being bothered back. Good times!

UPDATE since April 15, 2013…
I am writing this on April 18,2013

Wednesday, April 17, I went to get my vaccines for the World Race…
As the nurse was preparing to stick a needle in my arm, I had to check out the size of the needle itself…
And it was pretty long like about this size:  _______________
So that freaked me out!
But when she actually stabbed me with the needle it didn't feel all that bad…
So I have overcame a fear… I AM NO LONGER AFRAID OF NEEDLES!

*By the way the whole needle doesn't go into your arm just the tip….
