Excited to spend every moment together
Listening to every word that spills from their lips
Wanting to do whatever pleases them without complaint
I confess I was like that once…
My heart's desire was to please him with every ounce of my being…
I became a completely new person when I met him…
My mind was obsessed with him…
But, after time passed…
I didn't realize it but his desires were no longer important to me…
Subtly, I became more concerned for my own desires than his…
My love for him that I once had…
Was Gone!
I mean this man really LOVED ME!
Loved me in a way that no one on this earth can…
And I Forsook Him!
Recently, I have come across this revelation that I abandoned my first love…
"You have Forsaken your First Love. Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place"
Revelation 2:4-5
Jesus is the one who is speaking to us through this text…
He knows our every deeds whether good or bad and nothing is hidden from His sight…
Because of His LOVE, he reveals to us the areas in our life that we have not allowed him into…
We compartmentalize, thinking if this area of my life is good enough, he will stay…
But he is not our lover when we are in need…
He is to be our FIRST LOVE!
