Julie and I went to the pharmacy after lunch before we had ministry at the church. As we walked down the usual street into town, we walked past a man who had some sort of contraption on his swelled up leg. No words were exchanged with Julie and I about the man but we continued heading to our destination.

On our way back, again we saw the man now sitting by a pub. We walked past again but this time, Julie spoke up and had a tug at her heart to pray for healing for the man. We turned around and helped his man to his feet and asked to pray for him and he agreed. In the middle of praying for him, he interrupted with harsh words and a damaged heart. We tried to keep him clam and speak truth into his life but his ear’s were ignorant to the truth of God’s love. He was blind to see how the love of God is present in his life.

We walked away and Julie began to cry from the experience. She started to apologize for her tears but I stopped her. Her tender heart is a gift and is a glimpse of how the Father feels for his children that are lost, ignorant and in constant suffering.

To experience rejection first hand and to see the build up of ignorance is heartbreaking. It was a wake up call that there are people who have formed a calloused heart. Due to their calloused heart they are unable to see how God was with them in their life and they are unable to hear the truth of God’s love.

We must continue to pray for bling eyes to be opened and deaf ear to be opened. Pray specifically for people, your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and the man or woman that checks you out at the grocery store.
