Have you ever felt overwhelmed during the Christmas season. For years, I have.

How in the world am I going to pay for gifts for everyone I love so much? What in the world am I going to get to show so and so how awesome he/she is? When am I going to find time to make desserts for all these parties I am scheduled to attend? When am I going to make it home to see my family? I really don’t have time to sit through the same church service my church does every single year.

I lost my precious grandfather just a few days before Christmas last year and it was such a sad time. There was little joy in my heart last Christmas.

I want Christmas to feel like it did when I was five years old.

I want to be amazed by the music all around me: the bells, the trumpets, the angelic voices. I want to sing along with JOY in my heart. I want to sit in church on Christmas Eve and watch the events unfold on the edge of my seat. I want to listen in awe to every detail of the story of Jesus’ birth. I want to be amazed that my Savior was born of a virgin in a manger. I want to NOT be able to wrap my head around the concept that God loved us SOOOO much that He sent His only son to save every single person with sin in his or her heart.

As I prepare my heart for the World Race, I am reminded of the heart of Christmas.

Christmas isn’t about the gifts. Christmas is about giving with love.

God sent His perfect gift to the world many, many years ago. He did so with a heart full of adoration for His children.

Donations have started pouring in for the World Race and each gift humbles my heart and sends me back to the heart of Christmas.

THANK YOU TO THE 25+ AWESOME PEOPLE WHO ADOPTED A DAY IN DECEMBER TO GIVE TO MY WORLD RACE FUND!!!!!!

This season, remember it is not the price of the gift but the love behind the gift that will change the world; just like sweet baby Jesus.

Hold your love ones close this holiday season, eat too much, and laugh until you cry. Let Christmas shake your world like it did when you were a child.

Love,

Roxanne:)
