May I introduce to you my new and final team: Rogue Wave (plus one of our squad leaders)

Some of these women, I have had the privilege to be on previous teams with and some I know better than others.  But I am happy to be finishing up my Race with them.

Lets meet them:

Julie: is a passionate women who loves the Lord with all her heart.  We went to the same University (Go Dawgs).  She has a heart for all things Kingdom and a discernment of the Spirit that is awesome.  Her favorite favorite color is green and she loves to paint and listen to worship music.  She is opinionated, strong, loving and a free spirit 🙂

Katie: is compassionate as she is fierce.  She has overcome so much in the last 8 months with Papa and its so awesome to see her grow and gain new freedom everyday.  She is the baby of the team (being the youngest) but she is a joy to be around.  She has a unique way of seeing things and is sensitive to the Spirit.  She loves to cook and has blessed me and the team many times through her delicious food (and I learned a lot to from watching her cook). She has a squeak (yay squeakers unite!) when she laughs which just makes you want to laugh with her.  She entered my bubble in Nepal with her awesome hugs and well here we are 🙂

Michelle: I haven’t known her long but I have seen how great of a listener she is, a great prayer warrior, and gives some sound advice.  She too has blossomed on this journey and gained freedom in new ways. I have seen her grow in her love for children and how she relates with them and with others.  Its so neat to see how Papa is working. Keep on keeping on girl!!

Ashley: Oh man where do I start.  We hit it off in Nepal but when we were placed on the same team together, we did butt heads every know and then.  And that wasn’t a bad thing because she was willing to call things out that needed to be brought into the light and she wasn’t afraid to be the bad guy.  That is a quality I admire about her.  Ash is someone who isn’t afraid to say things as they are.  She has come a long way in letting me love her.  I remember in Cambodia, I chased her around asking her to let me wash her feet and do her nails (my way of loving) and she wouldn’t.  But Papa worked in her heart and she has let me do her feet :):) And we have had hard conversations with each other more than once and I appreciate those conversations because by having them we are choosing to fight for one another and to get to the root of the problem.  She has always asked hard, in depth questions and helped me see things from a different perspective always spurring me on to seek Papa even more intimately than before.  She has grown in her relationships with people, she has learned to receive love and give it, learned to dig deep with Papa and be creative (whether art or music), and to be compassionate.

And last but not least Janet: She and I started the race together and now we have the opportunity to finish it together and I am so happy (Mosaic yay!!).  Seeing Janet now and remembering her our first 4 months, Papa did some work in her heart and its awesome.  She heard His call and said yes not only to Race but only to be the one to lead our team. She has matured in more ways that I can’t count. She sees people.  I mean think of Avatar (not the anime or cartoon) when they said the famous greeting, “I see you” meaning ‘I see into your soul’. Well that’s how Janet sees people.  She is learning in this new season what it means to be a leader to us and what that means to her.  She seeks after Papa’s heart and is another great prayer warrior.  She has a calm, gentle demeanor that can calm even the most angry of people.  She is raw and unafraid to say what needs to be said.

Well folks, this month has had its up and down, but we are here, we are together and we are choosing to fight for each other and the community it brings.  Make no mistake, we arent perfect.  There are days when we cant stand each other.  That’s where grace comes in.

But,

We made it!! Here’s to another 3 months of laughter, tears, hard conversations, hard days, happy days and all the feelings that go with it.
