“Remember Lots wife. Whoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it.”
-Luke 17:32
What was it about Lots wife? What caused her to look back? Why did she even look back when she knew what lay behind was nothing but destruction? I finally understood. Her desires, her wants, her heart were still in Sodom, which caused her…her life. If she didn’t want to leave Sodom, why did she? She sought to save herself, she did. But she wasn’t honest with herself. She didn’t truly give up everything Sodom had to offer. As she became a pillar of salt, she became a warning “to those who long after the flesh”.
Then it hit me. How many times, do I look back on my past? Do I desire the flesh? I confess. I am weak. I am a sin prone women and its only by Gods GRACE, by Gods STRENGTH, do I or any of us stand a chance against sin.
The Cross. The sacrifice. He came so that whatever separated us from Him, would be severed. Oh may we dwell in the power of the cross and truly give EVERYTHING up, the way our Saviour did. I want to abandon myself at the cross where “His crucified life the flesh has not one speck of power. Let the Cross seize you and sever you from that enthrallment with the flesh.”
It’s been said, “Every strong conviction ends by taking possession of us; it overcomes and absorbs us, and tears us ruthlessly from everything else.”
“HAS THE CROSS SO SEIZED UPON YOUR LIFE?”
**My prayer for myself and my squad is that we would use this time before Launch and not only falling more in love with our Creator but letting ourself be seized completely, absorbing us and tearing us away from any form of sin that breaks the heart of our Creator.
