Unfortunately, this blog post is not about the novel by Charles Dickens but about my expectation of the World Race and that is quite simple for my mission is clear: TO KNOW HIM and MAKE HIM KNOWN.
TO KNOW HIM. I have to be in constant communication with the Lord. How can I share the Word, when my well is dry? Everything my flesh craves, I must crucify, just like Galatians 2:20 says, "For I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Take this verse in, for it is powerful!
MAKE HIM KNOWN. Before Jesus ascended into heaven, He charged His disciples as Matthew 28:18-20, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore GO and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
So what am I expecting?
- To get out of my comfort zone
- To see the Bible come alive through the power of the Holy Spirit
- To be sensitive to the Holy Spirit
- To be broken by the Lord and then mended back together
- To build a genuine community with my team and squad (since they will by like-family for the 11 month journey)
- To love unconditionally
- To be physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted
- To grow in my faith as I know my faith will be tested
- To see people come to KNOW the Lord
- For healing in my life, my team, squad and other peoples lives happen
- For demons to be cast out, families to be reconciled, hearts to be mended
- To come back a transformed person because of meeting with the Lord, be it through a person, a need, or a trial.
