This month has been really amazing. There were so much unknown and possibilities for things to go wrong but God always showed up. I had the opportunity to learn a little about Islam and the opportunity to see into the lives of full time missionaries. I was able to hear their struggle and I learned so much about the life of a missionary and what it looks like to do this full time.
Before I continue, I should tell you that this month looked very different than our usual months. Instead of partnering with a local ministry as we usually do, we did something called UH. Unsung Heroes is simply the way we go about finding local ministry that the world race or AIM partner with later on. So instead of one contact, we went around 7 cities in Bosnia and met 9 possible future hosts. Some were easy to reach, others not so much.
Bosnia and Herzegovina is a beautiful country with amazing people. There is such a small group of follower of Jesus there that, everyone one pretty much knows everyone. This is how we got most of our contacts. On our second week in Bosnia, we met this beautiful lady (whom we will call L, for security purposes). She has been working there for 20 years and has seen Bosnia through the ups and the downs. Now she and her husband head a church and they have regular weekly bible studies, church services, sport camps amongst other things to reach out to the community they’re in. She was our second contact in Bosnia and through her we were able to meet many people. She sat with us and gave us many other contacts.
Please pray for their work there and the people they’re trying to reach. Pray that they’ll persevere and look to Jesus for rest.
Thank you!
