Hello!

I hope that you are having a great 2016 so far! I wanted to share about my plans for after graduation. I have decided to take a Gap Year, before heading off to college. My goal in pursing this is to continue my growth in Christ through serving in missions overseas. By getting out of my comfort zone, I am hoping to find my areas of strength and giftedness as I serve in a way I never have before.

The program that I have been accepted into is The World Race through Adventures in Missions. World Race: Gap Year is a mission trip for college aged students that travels to three continents over the course of nine months. I will have a 10-day training in June and will leave in the beginning of August for nine months. I will be in three countries for three months each: Guatemala, Lesotho, and Cambodia. Me and my team of 50 will get to go deep into the community and serve their specific needs. I am hoping to create lasting relationships with the people I encounter and gain life experience that will point me towards the future God has called me to.

The biggest challenge that I have at this point is raising my support. To cover the 9 months of expenses including, food, lodging, air/land/sea travel, medical insurance and training, I need $13,805. I would love for you to consider a 1-time donation or monthly support. Monthly support is a great benefit as I would greatly appreciate your prayers each month as it is paid.

I have a blog that I have started and will continue on my trip: rossvangorder.theworldrace.org. There is a link for support on the blog.

I would greatly appreciate anything that you are able to donate and also desperately need your prayers as I embark on this year!

Sincerely,

Ross Van Gorder
