So the last couple of days have been crazy. We woke up at 2:30am on Monday to catch a shuttle, then from the shuttle we took a train, then a bus, then an uber, then we spent 25+ hours in the air (spread out between five different planes.) WOW are we tired. It’s now Thursday and we’re finally at our final destination, we made it to Chiang Mai! The whole time difference thing is definitely kicking my butt and total culture shock IS a thing, but it’s been totally worth it. Throughout our travels, we saw some pretty incredible things. We saw mountains, oceans, sunrises and sunsets. We saw beautiful indoor oasis’ in airports and even more beautiful people. When you’re traveling for this many consistent hours, you realize the absolute blessing of dry shampoo and you develop a deeper appreciation for sleeping horizontally and showering.

I can’t even begin to put into words what’s going through my head right now though. This whole thing feels like a dream. I’ve waited so long to be here, it hardly seems possible to think that  I actually AM here. Today we went and walked around the local mall a little bit, bought some of the things we left behind in the States, admired the scenery and ate dinner at the local night market. I haven’t seen any big bugs yet, just one moth, so I guess you could say that I’m emotionally doing okay so far. I’ve really enjoyed life living with the Green Beans, I really feel because we spent so much time together traveling, we used that time to get to know each other better. I think we’re already so tightly knit together as a family and I think that’s just absolutely incredible. God put forty random students together and I don’t think there could have been a better combination. I’ve already been so blessed living in community, from people writing me notes of encouragement, to sharing shampoo/conditioner before I was able to make it to the local store, to just being themselves, open and vulnerable with me. I’m really thriving here in Chiang Mai and I’m so excited for what God has planned for us here these next two months.

I’m leaving this blog short and sweet, but stay tuned for my next one!

Love you all!
