Thank you Lord God my Father! For who You are. For how You work. For how generously You love us. For being strong where we are weak. For your endless Grace. For Your great faithfulness. For mightily and miraculously providing. For choosing me to be Your daughter, for choosing to save me, for choosing me for such a wonderful adventure with You. Jesus, thank you for using Your people to confirm this calling and getting me to the next step of this incredible journey. For each and every beautiful family member, friend, and anonymous heart you moved in to pray and to give. I am so grateful that you want this for me! I am so grateful for all that you are teaching me through this process. God I ask that you would continue to make this journey not about me, but about who you are. Use me Jesus, may I be Your vessel. I praise You Lord!
My Dear Family & Friends,
It is with great humility, awe and joy that I share with you all what God has done! My simple prayer above cannot begin to grasp it all. I am overflowing with deep gratitude for each and every one of your powerful prayers, loving encouragement, deep faith, and great generosity. For being the hands and feet of Jesus by participating in and sending me out to the nations to be the hands and feet of Jesus. I am growing in my faith and understanding of who God is through this process, there is no greater gift, and you are all a big part of that. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
In less than a week God provided, and He provided more than enough for my first deadline. Be assured this was not of my own doing. It went from almost no hope to more than enough, and it all came in just in time! Isn’t that a beautiful picture of the process of salvation?! The way He uses others along our journey. The way He asks us to not look at our circumstances, but to Him. The way He teaches us not to look to tomorrow, but focus on what He is doing today. To trust in His promises and to walk forward into the unseen. That He knows what we need and is the ruler over everything. That we are meant to be dependent on Him for every detail of our lives. More than any dollar amount, these are the gifts that God has been giving me through all of this and I am so very grateful.
The adventure has already begun! It doesn’t start in some far off place, the adventure is within my own heart as I allow God to show me more of who He is and who He is calling me to be. Yes, I am very excited to experience new cultures, peoples, and places, but more than that I am excited to see what God can do when I let go of and surrender the boundaries I have placed on my life. I am so humbled that I get to share the truth of who Jesus is with those that may never have heard His name before by tangibly expressing the love He has shown me. I pray that God in His own perfect unique ways will continue this work in each one of our lives!
So what’s next?! Training Camp!! Next week I leave for Atlanta for almost two weeks. Though I do not know all the details (I like to be surprised!), this is where I will meet those going with me and the other teams that are leaving in January. We will be put into squads, smaller groups within our team that will be our family and we will serve alongside each other throughout the 11 months. I can’t wait to meet them! It will be a sneak peak of living conditions on the race, as well as time of preparing and filling us up in God before we go out and serve and love on others. Also, for the first time ever they are having a women’s retreat for a couple days before the actual training starts called “Beauty for Ashes” (check out the reference to Isaiah 61 I shared in my support letter!). So blessed I get to participate and look forward to sharing it with all of you!
Calling all Prayer Warriors!!
- That God would continue to provide and move hearts to give? There is still a lot of support to raise to be able to go on the actual trip in January. My next deadline is $7500 by December, and I am so grateful we are almost there! Yet my true hope and prayer is to be fully funded or as close to $16,243 before I leave. Sometimes participants have to come home mid-mission because of not reaching the full amount within the first couple months of the Race. This will also allow me to be more present on the mission field and not have to split my focus with support raising, as well as allowing me to take some time to visit my mother before I go who I haven’t seen in a few years, which will be harder if I must stay to fundraise.
- Would you please pray for my time at training camp and that God would be in every conversation and each decision? My worldly experience of family before Christ has been a rocky one and my prayer is that God would do a mighty healing work through and with the 5-7 people I will be living with throughout the year.
- That I would truly allow Him to pour into me during this time and that no lies would get in the way of what He has for me? Please pray this for all the participants. There will be over 250 of us representing 5 teams at the training camp.
- In preparation for the Race we will be carrying all of our belongings. You may know that I was in a very serious car accident this year. Please pray that God would restore and heal whatever symptoms might still be left and that my body would be able to handle it.
- That God would use the time that I have left in LA over the next few months to prepare me spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically, relationally, financially, and practically? That I would grow in my prayer life during this time? For His peace, priorities and discernment? With training camp and the holidays taking up a couple of weeks, there isn’t a lot of time and there are so many things that need to happen before I go, and many things that I would like to do also. Leaving well is important to me and not something that I know much about. I really need God to guide me through the process.
Thank you all so so very much for sharing in what God is doing in and through me! Please always feel free to share my blog with others. I am adding practical information on how to support and participate on the bottom. Also sharing another short video below which shows some of the things I will be doing on this awesome World Race! If this is your first time visiting the blog please also see “me<God“, which shares a bit more about my heart behind going and much more about this ministry and what we will be doing. May God’s blessings rain and reign over each and every one of you!
As always, I close with the most powerful words of all, God’s very own. This scripture has a very special meaning to me and I believe it is part of my confirmation that this is what God wants for me in this season. The day after I first considered going on the World Race, I kept repeating in my mind “receive the Holy Spirit”. As I often do when a part of scripture I have no idea how to find comes to mind, I googled it! This is what it said:
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” – Acts 1:8
Amen Lord.
Sincerely, Humbly, and with Much Love,
Your Sister in Christ
Rose
