I have started fundraising for this crazy adventure!
My first fundraiser was selling hats at a farmers market I had been making for fun. Every Thursday afternoon in the summer and fall there is a farmers  market in our town. One Thursday my mom thought of the idea to just sell the hats that I had.  I called to man in charge to see if there was an open spot. With God’s grace there was;  it was the last week the market was open and it was even an extended week. Also I was blessed because the man leading it is a missionary from my church. Who is in Africa now with his wife.  I called only a few minutes before the market opened, with little time I put a card table in my little car and a sign.
Looking out of place because everyone there had been selling jams, birdhouse, fresh vegetables and other items for years with nice tables. For me it was a place to meet my neighbors and talk to them.

As the time passed people stopped and talked to me and I told them about The World Race and mission trips. Some bought a hat and gave me more than I was asking for the hat; an example is a hat sold for $3 and a lady gave me $20 and said keep the change.
Many of the other venders came and said hello and I walked around a bit.
Then one lady came by and she was so happy to see what I was doing and just loved how young I was. She had no money but dug into her purse and found one dollar and gave it to me. More then the money was the love she showed me and the encouraging words she said.

Mark 12:41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. 43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything–all she had to live on.”
