WELCOME!

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here I am. Send me!’ – Isaiah 6:8

You are now reading the blog of what still feels like a dream for me: the World Race. God called me to this crazy adventure, and starting on September 6th, I will embark on an 11 month journey around the world to share God’s love with “the least of these.” This is truly the opportunity of a lifetime! However, this is much more than an 11 month journey. My World Race journey started as soon as God called me to this trip back in November, and there is tons of preparation to be done. From packing everything I’ll need for 11 months into a single backpack to preparing my heart for the experience ahead, there is still much to do before I launch.

Recently, I have discovered how much joy comes from supporting others in what the Lord has called them to. The theme of Pocono Plateau’s bible studies two summers ago was coupled with what has become one of my favorite verses, Matthew 6:21. “For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Your treasure may be your time, your friendship, your prayers, your wisdom, and/or your finances. Whatever your treasure is, I have learned that investing it in others fills me with overwhelming joy. I want every single person reading this to experience that same joy!

There are currently a few ways I am asking others to partner with me:

prayer

Please join me in prayer. This season of preparation has already proven to test me in countless ways. God is challenging me, pushing me, and working in me in ways I never expected, and for that I am so grateful. Once I get to camp in June and even more so once I launch for the Race in September, I know God will test me more and more and opportunities to be a light to others will never stop showing up. God is so good! I have definitely struggled hard, but we have a gracious, loving God who never lets go of His children. Please pray that He will continue to be near, to speak, to grow, to lead, and to pour out His love and joy, and that I will continue to seek Him, listen to Him, let Him mold me, follow Him, and share His love and joy more and more each day.

“He must become greater; I must become less.” – John 3:30

financial support

Like most other missions organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. Would you consider partnering with me financially on this incredible journey? The total cost of the trip is $16,285. This covers the costs of training, travel, lodging, food, and other necessities while abroad. Luckily, this amount is broken up into installments with deadlines to meet along the way.

• $150 Deposit – Due 1/1/2014 (2 weeks after your acceptance date.)

• $3,500 – Due 6/28/2014 (2 weeks before Training Camp)

• $7,500 – Due 8/18/2014 (2 weeks prior to leaving for the World Race)

•$11,000 – Due 12/1/2014 (End of 3 months on the field)

• $15,500.00 + $754.35 (*Insurance) = $16,254.35 Total – Due 3/1/2015 (End of 6 months on the field)

My next deadline to meet is on March 1st! Will you considering partnering with me to help me meet that goal and stay on the field?

I have seen God perform miracles in the area of finances, and I am confident that if God is asking you to give, He will provide for all of your needs as well. By supporting this mission, you are helping build God’s kingdom here on Earth! I know that God wants to bless me through this trip and he wants to bless you too.Adventures In Missions, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and a long-time member of ECFA. your friendship

Finally, I could never make this dream a reality without all of the love and support from my amazing friends and family. As I power through the fundraising process, sometimes the greatest thing I need is a little distraction by hanging out with my family and friends, some help planning or running a fundraiser, a solid vent session with a good friend, a bit of creative guidance while designing t-shirts or some other fundraising items, or some tough love and motivation from a loving supporter. God has placed so many passionate, loving, crazy, inspiring, supportive people in my life, and for that I am so, so thankful. This has already been an incredibly humbling experience, and I truly could not accomplish my goals without all of you wonderful people!

“Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” – Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

Thank you all so much for your overwhelming support and encouragement. I have been praying for God to surprise me, and I am consistently blown away by the sheer love so many people have shown me. Many of you have reached out to let me know you are praying fiercely for me. This means the world to me. I am so incredibly blessed to have such loving network of friends and family. I love you all so much. I pray that I am not only a blessing to those I serve, but also to all of you. I am truly honored to go as your representative to bring Jesus to the nations, and I will carry each of you with me as I let His love be multiplied all over the world. God has already been working in my life, and I am so excited to see what He does during these next few months of preparation and then on the field in September!
