If I’m being honest, I would say the team building process of training camp was a difficult one. We were paired with different people from our squad and thrown into multiple scenarios to see how we work together. We talked to our leaders about who we want to work with, and who would be a potential challenge.
As much as I tried not to have expectations of who my team would be, I still came in with an idea of who I “wanted”. Half way through, I felt a heavy conviction from the Holy Spirit. If God has a plan for my race and my team, who am I to say who I will and will not work with? I trust the process our leadership goes through in picking our teams. Every single move is prayerfully considered. More importantly, I trust my Lord. I don’t believe this is a team that any of us would have picked for ourselves. I believe it was divinely orchestrated. I trust the people He wants to surround me with. He knows the encouragement, challenges, and diversity I need to survive my next year. I have so much peace in that, and LOVE the team He has placed me in.
With that being said: Meet Team Unwritten
These are the people I will be surrounded with for the next 11 months. This team is full of POWERFUL women of God. We are not defined by our past. We do not have all of the answers, we are not in control. However, we are devoted to living with our arms completely open to where the Lord is leading us. We know that He has it all taken care of and we will praise Him through the unknown. I am confident that we will make a huge difference in the lives we come into contact with.

Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten”

Meet Lindsey. Lindsey is Unwritten’s leader. Her sweet spirit reminds me of home. She is encouraging and constantly positive. She is fearless and not afraid to go against the grain. She has experience and passion for mission, outreach and youth. She just has SO much to offer. I am excited to follow and learn from this gem.
Meet Alleigh. From day one, I was blown away from Alleigh’s honesty (in all the right ways.) She is so strong in knowing exactly how she feels and conveying it to others in the most intentional way. She’s also so funny and loves adventure. I’m so glad to have the opportunity to work with her this year.
Meet Bethany. Knowledge. This girl does her research, and knows exactly what she’s talking about. I watched her transform through the process of training camp and was lucky enough to be someone she felt comfortable sharing her story with. I love the vulnerability that has already begun in her and can’t wait to see how the Lord continues to move in her life.
Meet Courtney. This fun-loving, spontaneous, spanish-speaking lady is just who I need for this trip. She literally sees the world from a different perspective and I have already learned so much. I appreciate her willingness to make a good time out of anything. God is going to use her in miraculous ways, all for His glory. Get excited.
Meet Malory. Who is the best person to play a good game of mafia with? This girl. She is hilarious, and she doesn’t even try. Her Wisconsin accent alone makes the world a better place. She is a team player, a great listener, and filled with a loving spirit. I love her fire for the Lord and zest for life. I can’t wait to spend this year with her.
Meet Michaela. I love this free-spirit! Her presence is overflowing peace. She is so sensitive to how others are feeling. She is her own person. Her words are powerful and make you want to listen. I truly believe God has a great purpose for her specifically on this team.
In 5 short weeks, we will be united again and heading to Los Chilies, Costa Rica to work with our ministry Fundacion Resplandecer. The vision of this ministry is to tend to at-risk teens and children in vulnerable conditions that need to be rehabilitated. Through the process of having these children here, they pour into and invest so that they can be reincorporated into society with support and love. Stay tuned to see how Unwritten is changing the world, and how the Lord is changing our hearts.
