My name is Roger Smith. I am 24 years old and from a small town called Lebanon Ohio. I am the son of Lindsey and Angie Smith. My father is a pastor and my beautiful mother sells real estate. I am the oldest of three kids, my younger brother is in the Marine Corps and my sister just graduated high school and is getting ready to start her freshman year of college. I, myself have been attending school at Lee University the last two years. I have decided to take some time off from school to go on this trip and follow Gods calling on my life for ministry.
The decision I have made to become a Racer has not been easy for me. However, after weeks of prayer and counselling from several influential people I am taking a very big leap of faith and following God’s direction for my future. I have always felt called and found something very rewarding and intriguing about missionary work and even went on my first trip when I was ten to Haiti. The Holy Spirit really started pulling on my heart several months ago to pursue this journey and now this dream is becoming a reality. I am so excited to see God move and to see how he uses me to minister to all sorts of different people showing them Gods love. Christ has really transformed my life and shown me how great he is and I am thrilled to have this opportunity to show others the power and love Christ has for them. This trip will greatly take me out of my comfort zone and will stretch and test me in all sorts of ways but I know God will give me strength and courage to fulfill his purpose for my life on this trip. Thank you so much for any prayers and contributions to my cause.
