During the month of July Team Koinonia and Team Gentle Warriors worked at the Remar Center. The Remar Center is an orphanage and rehabilitation center. The center houses 150 kids. Jose and Vanda are a married couple who run the Remar Center.
Interesting enough we in our human minds thought we could come in and do something similar to a Vacation Bible School with the children. But God made it clear after only a day; this was not his plan for this orphanage. I love this, I love how creative God is, he never bores me because he is always showing me in new ways how alive and active HE is.
(Our contacts brought all the kids over to where we were staying and we had a field day for the kids at the Remar Center)
We came back to the Remar Center and began the mornings simply praying for the children, the buildings, and Jose and Vanda’s family. And this is how we started every morning- simply praying.
It is amazing how our human minds keep us from so much. We think doing, doing, teaching, singing etc., will be what God wants us to do, and each ministry is different and needs different things. God our Father is the only one who can direct us to do what He desires for His children and the center.

The Remar Center is an amazing place- the children are orphans who are hungry for love and we were honored to share God’s love with them. We built relationships with the young children, the teenage girls, and the older women that reside there as well. We painted walls with scripture and truth for the kids to be consistently reminded of.
None of this was us or in any of our power, God showed us the need for His word to be written over the walls, God showed us the need for prayer, God showed us the need of more continual hands and feet of Jesus here at the Remar Center. God continually showed me how it is HE who begins/began the work in each person at the Remar Center (and in every country) and it is Him who will continue to do the work in each of their hearts. I am confident of this, Philippians 1:6 says, “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”

Leaving relationships that have been built and people you have grown to love is hard, one of the hardest parts of the race. But I love that I know I can continually lift the people up in prayer to my Heavenly Father, and that He promises to continue the work that HE began. Because we are His hands and feet but it is Him who works in the hearts.

Thank you to each of you for your prayers, support, and financial giving that are the hands and feet of Jesus and this could not be done without each of you.
