Psalm 143:8&10
Let me hear of your unfailing love each morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I give myself to you.
Verse 8 says that we are to trust God. We are to ask God to show us where to walk, and we are to give ourselves completely to God. Our trust is solely to be in God and not in man.
This also challenges me to question who is in control of my life on a day to day basis, me, my will or God and his will? Do I truly trust God COMPLETELY?

In the end only God’s will truly fulfills us. Verse 10 says we need to ask God to teach us to do His will. It is not on our own or in our own human nature that we follow God’s will, it takes discipline and perseverance to continually say yes to HIM and no to ourselves.
It’s ultimately our Trust in HIM that gives peace and a desire to do His will. Because not knowing the future or releasing control is not what gives peace- it is having faith and trusting the ONE who is in control. David was afraid and hopeless as he wrote this Psalm, but he expressed in HONESTY and HUMILITY that his faith was not in himself. Instead David had faith that it was God who was walking beside him and HIS spirit that was leading him on.
As humans believing a promise that has yet to be fulfilled, takes faith, perseverance, and patience.

God’s promises are amazing, they never fail us, yet his timing is not our timing and His ways are never our ways.
