My mentor and close friend Colleen, Sheree and me @ my brother’s basketball game

First of all thank you for being gracious with me for not updating you with my post-race experience. Thank you to each of you for your constant prayers through this past year and for your financial sacrifices of supporting me thoughout the year. God has used each of you in my life and in so many others around the world.

The month has flown by, and I will soon be heading down to Gainesville, GA to participate in a free new program by AIM called  Project Searchlight. This new program is for those who have participated in the race and now face the question of now what? Being involved with the World Race caused me to see how much can be done on so little. I learned that when I am simply willing, God is free to use me as He desires. So with all of my dreams, passions, and desires I’m setting out saying Lord, here I am. Send me. (Isa. 6:8)

Simply going to pursue my dreams and passions for me is overcoming an obstacle of FEAR. And I’m realizing how if allowed FEAR can hold me back. Recently I read, “My failures are my gift to others. My successes are the gift of others to me.”

my best friend and brother, Daniel and me.

Which brings me to the title of this blog, THANK YOU.

I want to say THANK YOU to the generation ahead of me who has paved the way for what this program is allowing us to do- live out the passions God has given each of us.  So Seth Barnes (check out his blog it’s awesome), Michael Hindes, my awesome squad coaches Mike and Patti Paschall and so many more THANK YOU. Without these forerunners I would not have the paved road that I am walking on today. Nor would I have the encouragement or dare to step out in faith and walk the uncomfortable and unsecure path. Seth Barnes started AIM out of a dream from God and it began in his garage.

It will most likely take me many small steps on this path to my calling and living out my dreams, but I’m okay with that. As long as I am walking more and more on the path God has called me to and designed for me.  And the first step is just that- a step out in FAITH. Only God knows the outcome.

Occasionally in life someone who has walked down the path on which you’re walking offers to join you and help guide you. Looking back on their help, you see it for the gift that it was.” Seth Barnes
