Will you help me stay on the race?

First Off, can I just say I am on month 6 of my race. Whaaaat? Crazy.

 

When I first signed up for the race, of course I was a little nervous. I had to

Leave my family for a year, meet a new family to live with for a year, do crazy things that would totally push me out of my comfort Zone, and trust God to help me raise a lot of money. $15,500 to be exact. 

 

When I first got accepted on the WR, My sister was still on the race and people had just finished supporting her. So many lies were going through my head. Why would anyone give to me if they already gave to my sister? No one will come to my fundraisers because my sister already did them? 

 

Well heres the thing, our God is a big God and no surprise here, he has shown up. Here I am, In Africa with all the love and support someone could ask for. Not only did my sisters supporters support me, but I have had support from my team mates families, support from people on my sisters old squad, and support from people I haven’t even met. You know who you are and my heart is soooo thankful. 

 

It’s really cool to see how God can bring us to a goal that seems unreachable when we first start. I remember getting my first $50 dollars in the mail, I remember getting my first $500 donation! It became so real. I remember my successful fundraisers, I remember my not so successful fundraisers. I remember when it was easy to trust God with my finances, I remember when it was tough. But through it all , He has been so faithful. 

 

I am $1, 400 away from meeting my final deadline. I sit here in awe. Without your guy’s prayers, support and encouraging words I would not be this close to my goal! So thank you.
