Hey Everyone,
As some of you know I just spent ten days
in Gainesville, GA training for next year. It was really
good to finally meet the team and the amazing staff who make this happen. For
our time there we had a lot of teaching and also a lot of team building
exercises.
The major focus for the first part of the
week was to get us spiritually prepared for the year to come. Mon. afternoon we
had a girl’s time. The speaker talked to us about emptying our cups. She said
if we let all our burdens and past hurts and the bitterness that results from
them fill our hearts we’re not leaving much room for the Holy Spirit to work.
So, she gave us each a styrofoam cup and told us to go and spend some time with
the Lord. She said to ask Him to examine our hearts and reveal to us the things
we need to let go of and write them on the cup. After we were through filling
up the cup with all our junk she had us tear it up and she gave us each a new
empty cup signifying the release of those to the Lord. This was just one of the
many object lessons we had.
The rest of our time was spent doing
different team builders. We did everything from obstacle courses to relays to
brain teasers to a dance off and plenty in between. My personal favorite was the
pumpkin carving contest. We had to carve the world by memory. Although some of
this may sound silly the point was to see how we worked together; what
strengths and weaknesses we brought to the team. At the end of the week they
broke the fifty-four of us up into smaller teams of six or seven.
Before I go into the financial update I
wanted to thank all of you who have been praying and to those of you who have
helped with the funding. I really appreciate it and I’m excited to share in
this ministry with you. Praise God, I had enough in my account to cover the
costs of training. Before I go on the trip I need to have 50% of the funds in
which comes to $7,440 and the other 50% in pledges. If ten people gave $50 a
month and twenty people gave $25 a month for eight months that’s all it would
take. I have no doubt that if this is where God’s taking me He will provide and
I’m excited to watch Him do it.
I would just ask that you
would continue praying; asking God if He wants you to join in this ministry
with me. The information to do so is at the bottom of the page. If you have any questions email me at [email protected] .
Thank you once again for your prayers and
support!
