Our first week in the Dominican Republic
was spent training in San Juan. The focus of our training was preparing our
hearts for the next year. Our coaches and some of the AIM leadership were there
praying for us and just pouring into us spiritually. It was also a good time to
reconnect with our teams and start building on those relationships.
Last Saturday the teams split up to to go and start working in different
ministries. All but three teams stayed in San Juan. One of the teams went up in
the mountains. My team and one other are now in Azua and will be for the next
two weeks. While here we will be teaching English, teaching sports, helping
with church meetings and helping in the Sunday school classes, some manual labor and
several other projects.
We’ve
only been helping for a couple days now so I’m not quite ready to write about
it. I can say through that I’m really excited to see what God’s going to do in
my heart as well as the hearts of those we come in contact with.
