This is actually a blog that I wrote prior to my world race launch in Oct. I don´t think I ever got a chance to post it and now (prob. moreso than ever before) seems like the most perfect time for it. Please read it and pass along the info. Take the call to action and help me continue this journey the Lord has placed in my life! There is a meeting at 3pm today to decide whether some of will be allowed to cont. with the WR experiance or not due to a lack of funds… help me out so that I can cont. helping our others and spreading God´s kingdom throughout world!
-Oct. 2011-
I think this is going to be a crazy-awesome journey that I can´t really put into words. (which it has been) Even knowing what I know about these trips, I can´t really wrap my head around all that I´m going to be seeing and doing while I´m away. However, as much as many of the situations I face will absolutely tear my heart in two, it´ll be worth it to let these people know that 1) they´re not alone 2) they are precious in God´s sight despite what they´ve done and how they´ve been treated and 3) THEY MATTER. They will no longer just be a statistic to those they encounter, they will also be a name, face, and story of epic courage in the face of atrocities and hardship! Even though we can´t single-handedly save them all, if we help save any at all, it´ll all be worth it! Even if we befriend women who are held captive in the human trafficking industry that don´t try to break free while we´re there, they´ll at least know that someone out there loves them and appreciates who they are as opposed to what they can offer. For possibly the first time in their life those young girls, orphans, and widows will actually know what it´s like to feel human, be cared for, and be delighted in despite their circumstances. To them it´s worth millions of times over, and so should be the case of people that can actually do something about it.
They say ignorance is bliss and when people´s eyes are opened to what´s going on, all sorts of emotions usually rage inside of them and they often feel called to take action. [Far moreso than bliss, ignorance is also oftentimes just another excuse to not get involved.] This is me asking you to accept your call to action and allow me to complete the journey set before me! I can´t do my part if others don´t do their parts to help… as we are all a body of one – each with seperate tasks, abilities, and opportunities.
I want people to imagine that it was THEIR daughter, THEIR sister, THEIR best friend who was kidnapped, sold, and pimped out dozens of times a night. What lengths would you go to reach them and protect them? What measures would you take to make sure people were aware of what happened? How far would you go to save them?! When would you stop fighting to get them back? Hopefully, you´d do everything in your power to make sure they were alright. Hopefully, you´d never give up on them. But, what about those who have no voice, no family, no hope? I don´t understand how people can just forget about them or write them off as if they´re nothing! They aren´t something, they´re each someONE and they deserve to be heard, loved, fought for, and protected no matter what!

Since launching 3 months ago, I´ve had the opportunity to take care of malnourished & neglected babies, volunteer at an orphanage, grow close friendships with teens who´ve grown up on some of the toughest streets in the world, sat and listened to elderly people who were abandoned by those closest to them, work in schools, etc. all while spreading God´s love for them. The individuals that I´ve met as well as those I´ve lived in close community with over the last 3 months have impacted my life in more ways than I ever could´ve imagined at this point. My life is already forever changed for the better by this experiance and I hope/pray it continues in this direction with my squad by my side.
