If u know me at all or have read my previous blogs, u know that music is and always will be a huge part of my life. (That's not my declaration, so much as an obvious fact… "Declaration – This Is It" is a Kirk Franklin song that I came across the other night and can completely relate to for a variety of past, present, and (inevitably) future reasons. It def relates specifically to the World Race journey, the idea of full-time missions, and just the day to day struggles that everyone faces… all the doubts, fears, and problems that ppl overcome everyday. Just like the title says, "this is it" … this is a declaration of letting all those things go, as I've tried several times to do w/ varying success thus far. It's a song declaring that God is ultimately in control and we're letting go of the reigns.

You can listen to the song  and read the lyrics at this link… enjoy

I've heard that control is, in reality, just a false sense of security. Most ppl will do almost anything to both get and maintain control in a number of different forms for a number of different reasons. But in reality, we're never fully in control of anything at all! Bad things happen, unexpected things happen, plans change all the time… we can neither stop nor prevent any of these things from happening. The only thing we can do is deal w/ the hard blows and tough lessons that life gives us the best way we know how to, rely on the fact that God knows what He's doing, and understand things can't be bad all the time. Regardless of what we have going on or what we've been thru in the past, there's always other ppl in the world that would kill to have our problems instead of their own! Nobody's life is perfect. It's not about what ya have that matters most, it's about what ya do w/ what ya got! I recently read a quote that said "sometimes u need to fall in order to remember how far from the bottom u really are" … ain't that the truth!
