Why would u even want to?!?

What / who are u still holding on to… knowing all the while u should really just let go?

During training camp in July, we spoke declarations against lies that we've been told by others as well as by ourselves… we cut soul-ties… we let go of fear, hurt, inferiority complexes, etc. and many began to finally find their God-given voices! Letting go and working thru some things was already being put into pract. in a lot of ways in my life in the months leading up to camp. For some, it was just the beginning of a beautiful journey to freedom! [This blog kinda goes along w/ that process…]

Why is it so hard to just "Let go & let God" sometimes? Sometimes, we like to try and keep a section or two of our lives just for us: what we want, how we want, when we want, simply b/c we want it that way. We often start to give something that bothering or worrying us over to God, but 2sec. later constantly struggle to regain control of the reins… and then wonder and question why things aren't falling into place just as we'd like them to.

What are we so afraid of?! Are u scared that He's not who He said He is… or are u more scared of the fact that He IS exactly who He said He is and can/does do more than we could ever fathom every single day?! As if the creator of the universe would suddenly crash our sled into a brick wall if He were in control… When, in reality, we're the ones who do that to ourselves.

Life is like an unchartered obstacle course: all sorts of twist 'n turns, random roadblocks that seem to appear out of nowhere, and lots of crazy drivers all around us. That's why we're given a 3-fold driver (Father, Son, & Spirit) to help gear us in the right direction. We're just silly, un-experianced co-pilots that either go where we're told and stay on the right course or follow something shiny that happens to catch our eye and causes us to crash. But, we weren't created with auto-pilot, we need to decide where our lives are headed and who/what things we relinquish control to b/c realistically, we're always going to relinquish it to someone/something whether we realize it or not.

Letting go isn't usually the same thing as quitting. In fact, it's oftentimes quite the opposite! People don't let go because they're weak, they let go because they're strong enough to move on. Sometimes, what seems like the hardest thing to do, is in fact also the best thing u could do at the same. Moving on is also the healthiest thing u could ever do for yourself, regardless of what/who u need to move on from and how long it takes. I guarantee that when u do, ur mind, body, & spirit will all thankyou and you'll be filled w/ an unexplainable sense of peace/calm.

and letting go… really, truly letting it go with hands wide open to give things up to God is sometimes hard and scary. However, it's ALWAYS the best, most freeing, most rewarding thing we could ever do! Hands down! How can we honestly expect/demand/want God to give us more than we already have if our hands are so tightly clenched to what we already have that nothing else fits?
