Dear Reader,

I am officially half way through my Race! It is amazing that we have already come this far. I know there were times that some of us thought the year would never end, but now I see how fast the time is really flying. There have been many challenges among the squad, financial and physical, with illnesses and racers leaving the field and going home. Despite the challenges, God has showed Himself faithful and present in the work we are doing. There have been healings and countless salvations. God has used us to bring hope to the hopeless, food to the homeless, love and education to the orphans, comfort to the widows, encouragement to believers, and the Good News of God’s love to so many.

I wish I could explain to you how much I have changed in these past 6 months. I wish you could understand just how much I needed to be here; I needed this in ways that I wasn’t even aware of. God used so many circumstances and people here to heal areas of my life that I didn’t even know needed healing. The people I have been living with and serving beside have truly become family to me; they are continually calling me up into a higher identity in Christ. I came to serve and love others, but through this God has been doing a work in me. He has begun something that I know He will finish.

I could be home for the New Year. This idea baffles me but it’s true.

Thanks to everyone who has sacrificially and graciously supported me through this trip, to all who have walked this journey with me, to those who have believed in what I was doing when so many laughed at the thought. Thanks to your prayers and financial support I have met the first 4 financial deadlines, but I have 1 more, just one more. The end to this financial burden is in sight. After this I can finish out the remainder of my Race free from how much I have left to raise constantly in the back of my mind. But it’s a big one.

I currently have $11,100 in my support account. By January 1st I MUST have the total of $15,500. I only need to raise $4,400 more. The New Year is coming fast. I have not had consistent Internet for the past 3 months, which has made it extremely difficult when it came to raising financial support. As a result of that I could possibly be home by the New Year. This is a big deadline, but we serve an even bigger God.

We’re down to the wire. I am currently in Mozambique working with an amazing ministry called Africa on Fire. We have been doing house visits and crusades, where we go to the streets praising God, preaching the Gospel and praying for the sick. Many have come to know Christ.

This is the end of the African countries, then we head to Asia. Our next country is Nepal, home of Mt. Everest, the tallest mountain in the world. In Nepal, my team along with 2 other teams will be building an orphanage and a church along with ministering to the poor. Five countries remain. I know God can provide, and I believe He wants to use you. I am not ready to leave. Will you help me finish my Race?
