Hello there!

Before I start telling you about myself, you should probably know the most important thing: my Father’s a King. He’ll save your life, He’ll change your life and you should get to know Him if you haven’t already.

I was raised in an amazing Christian family. I’ve always gone to church and I was saved at the age of 8. It hasn’t really been until the last few years, though, that I’ve found a real relationship with God. I was rebaptized on April 13 of 2006 and that really just started me running after God. Though I volunteered at an orphanage in Oaxaca, Mexico in May of 2006 and volunteered through an Alternative Spring Break in Washington, D.C. in December of 2007, my first real mission trip was last spring break, to Concord, North Carolina, where we worked with Habitat for Humanity. The first two trips weren’t mission trips, per se, but God still revealed so much to me through them, and really implanted in me a heart for orphans and for the poor through those trips.

My immediate family consists of my mom, who is an amazing woman of God, with a total heart for serving; my dad, who is such an example of a godly man, and who can also play the piano by ear; and my brother, Justin, a police officer who is one of the funniest and most endearing people I know. He can get along with anyone. In the last year and a half, the new additions have been Crystal, Justin’s wife, who is also an incredibly gracious, wonderful woman (and who can COOK) and Savannah Jo, the newest addition to our family at 6 months. She’s adorable and lovely, even if she does cry when I hold her. In addition to my family, God has put amazing friends and two amazing churches in my life to help me grow and follow Him, for which I am so grateful and thankful.

A little more about me: I dance enthusiastically, if not well; I love The Office; I love languages, especially Spanish and Arabic; tabbouleh is probably the best food on the planet; Chai tea is my downfall; and I use way too many semicolons. My English teacher hated me for that, I think. I also love making people laugh- I think it’s a great way to connect and laughing is just fun- but my jokes are usually pretty lame, and I often don’t get through them because I’m laughing too hard (hey, I know the ending, and it’s funny!). So if I’m telling you a joke, bear with me! 🙂
