In Blackest night
I feel the void enclosing in
Disunity, anger, strife, and
Death
Elements of the darkness
surrounding
My lantern is dimming lower and
lower
The void tearing away at the
flame of my identity
My flesh infected, my mind
shattered
Yet a whisper from within my soul
a voice
“Let there be light“
a flicker and the void shuddered
Then the voice said again
“In him was life, and the life was the light of men”
Then the darkness felt fear and
pressed harder
Yet the infection of flesh hissed
as it was being burnt out
Then the voice spoke thrice
“I
am the light
of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the
light of
life“
A
wind came and kindled the flame of my identity
In my weakness my soul cried out
You,
LORD, keep my lamp burning;
my God turns my darkness into light.
Do
not gloat over me, my enemy!
Though I have fallen, I will rise.
Though I sit in darkness,
the LORD will be my light.
And
then an all consuming fire burnt through
Void
around me filled the darkness repulsed
My
lantern restored
Sanity
of my mind renews
The
roots of the plague purged
Then
in the light
of barrier of flame
A
vast plague infecting the living enslaved in chains
Figures consumed by the void…
Dry bones tormenting the chained
Then one from the crowd shouted
“So
justice is far from us,
and righteousness does not reach us.
We look for light,
but all is darkness;
for brightness, but we walk in deep shadows.”
The
pilar of flame responded
Listen
to me, my people;
hear me, my nation:
Instruction will go out from me;
my justice will become a light to the nations.
on
those living in the land of deep darkness
a light has dawned.
And then I felt strengthened with
hope
Then the Fire of the Lord
reminded my soul
“The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness has not overcome it
For you were once darkness, but now
you are light
in the Lord. Live as a child of light. The night is nearly over; the day is
almost here. So put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.
Light in a messenger’s eyes brings
joy to the heart,
and good news gives health to the bones.”
And
then Out of the brightness of his presence
bolts of lightning blazed forth.
Then
other children of light in the sea of darkness
In
this I was reminded of family of light warriors of which I belong…
