God made us in his image, therefore, all the traits God has, we have too. We can speak life to a dead spirit and make them come alive with our words. God grants us peace as we should grant others peace. God soars high in power like an eagle, yet like a dove, he is peaceful and loving. We are God’s children, and as children, we act like the one who is our role model. To be honest, I think just by history of the human condition of sin, we should NOT try to be ourselves, for ourselves are full of sin. Even though we are made in his image, it seems like the flesh and the devil makes it seem as if we weren’t. Humans often think that they are too. I know that I, myself, would prefer that I was the puppet that God speaks through me. With the Holy Spirit, that is possible. I no longer fear to know everything I’m going to say before hand and be a nervous reck. Instead, since the 2nd day of training, I’ve been surrendering my control of having everything wrote out in my mind or on paper before I speak and just trust the Holy Spirit. It has been life changing and that’s before I even left for Africa. At the airport yesterday, I even got the chance to pray for an old man after I sat there nervousness for 10 minutes. Was an amazing experience.
