What's my purpose? Isn't that a question we all ponder at some point in our lives and yet so often we look in the wrong places to find purpose? We make lists of goals and create bucket lists for what we want to achieve, thinking that this will fulfill OUR purpose. We look to worldly things and place our identities in them, only to be let down time and time again. The truth is, we often forget to ask God what his purpose for our life is and what he created us for. Out of the dust he created us for him, so wouldn't you think that he would also be the only one that knows what would fulfill and bring joy to your life? When I was in complete control of where my life was headed, I ran in to dead end after dead end looking for pleasures and purpose to bring fulfillment to my life. It wasn't until I realized that EVERYTHING got started in HIM and finds its PURPOSE in HIM! When I came to this realization, I found that even when I would stray and try to find my purpose in something other than God, whether it be friends, school, etc. it all was insufficient and that nothing compared to Christ and God's will for my life!
Sometimes we get side tracked and forget this simple truth, where are you finding your Purpose today?
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
