Today, I came across this message, and wanted to share it with you all because it made me feel like this is exactly what God wants to do in my heart this year as well as everyone who is going on the race. To get me to the point where all I can say is God, be it unto me according to your Word.
“For he will be like a blazing fire that refines metal.” Malachi 3:2 (NLT)
When God sees a man, He sees unlimited potential. God understands the forces, trials and pain a man must be subjected to if he is to become a man of immovable character.
Some men say they want to hear God. Some want to have His presence and power all around them. Some want to be the carriers of His miracles and anointing. But, it seems, few want the journey of fire to burn off the pride, self-sufficiency, lust, fear and insecurity that keep us distant from a holy God and His wonderful mysteries.
God only gives mysteries of His kingdom to those He trusts. There’s a pathway for a man to a holy God, but it’s a path of cleansing and brokenness. God doesn’t anoint a man who, even in the most remote way, thinks he can do everything on his own. He doesn’t anoint a man who sees others as his subjects. God won’t give authority to a man who doesn’t handle situations in a gentle, fatherly manner. Those who do it their way, and not God’s, only last for a short time.
God’s looking for a man who will be broken beyond what he can imagine. A man who will completely surrender his agenda and turn his eyes to God for help through pain. He’s looking for a man who will make God his complete source. Only those men can be completely trusted. Are you willing to be that man? Are you willing to be completely broken? Is anything more important in your life than God? Ask Him to make your heart like His.
